3/11/01 Ferrari Dreams

O.K., I’m pretty obsessed. I dreamed about my transmission the other night! I had this dream that the America was completed, and I was out driving the car down the road on a nice sunny day, but I had never fixed the transmission. I dreamed that parts were either too expensive or unobtainable, so not fixing the transmission was a compromise I had to make so that I could drive the car. Every time I stopped at a red light, I would start the car in 2nd gear, lugging the high strung V-12 Ferrari motor to keep from burning out the clutch! I awoke from this nightmarish thought of never allowing the Ferrari engine do what it was designed to do, but instead I had to drive it like a truck! I’ve got to stop eating ice cream before bed!
