More Grille and Monterey Summary

I don’t know if you guys will be able to stand it, but here are more pictures of the sanding and buffing process. It’s very labor intensive work, and no matter who I speak to, there doesn’t seem to be an easy way out, so if you want to live vicariously through me with this Ferrari restoration, you’ll have to bear looking at more photos of my buffing!

The vertical pieces are done with their sanding to a 1500 grit wet sanding, so now they await buffing. Soon the curved horizontal pieces will be at the same point, and I can begin another job that is just as messy as the wet sanding process: Buffing!

After this day of grille work, I left for Monterey for all the car events scheduled in California over that extended weekend. I spent about 6 days this time cramming in as much as I could. The trip was filled with contrasts, from having unbelievably good times, to nightmarish events, and I’ll be sharing them with you in chronological order as I sort through the stories and the pictures. Trust me, it’ll be worth the wait!

Here’s a quick list of things I got to do:
Previewed the RM Auction in Monterey
Saw the Pebble Beach Concours Tour
Attended Ocean Ave. Motor Club Luncheon in Carmel
Hosted Tomyang.net party
Went to Concourso
Went to Laguna Seca for Historic Races
Attended GTE Registry Party
Went to Pebble Beach Concours
Visited Steve Beckman’s Metal Fabrication Shop
Explored Tom Shaughnessy’s shops, and got a peek at his crazy world!

Each of these events had side trips and foot notes, so stay tuned!
