Ferrari Transmission and Mustang Motor

transmission

I stopped by Francois’ shop to pick up my transmission. It took two people to heave the heavy transmission into the back of the Z at the shop, but I had to figure out an easier way to get out of the car with my wife when I got it home!

I strapped the transmission to a piece of plywood, and we managed to lever it out of the trunk with relative ease, letting gravity do the rest of the work. I’ll have to get some help putting it back in the Ferrari, but I’ll also have to get the Mustang engine reinstalled so it can move out of the way so the Ferrari can get out of the garage.
assembled motor

Speaking of the Mustang motor, it’s basically done waiting to be installed. I’ve been fitting the igintion wires, and plumbing in the various wires, hoses and pulleys. The irony is now that the motor is close to going back in, the weather in the Northeast has gotten a lot colder. There has not been a lot of snow, but certainly enough for the town to salt all the roads, so I’m not too keen on driving the Mustang for her initial test drive. Hopefully I’ll find a nice break in the weather to install the engine and break in that V-8!
