The 2009 Radcliffe Motorcar/ Tomyang.net  Spring Event

With a few more weeks of winter left, it’s time to start thinking about Spring and what kind of car events to mark on the calendar. I’d like to take this opportunity to announce the 2nd Annual Radcliffe Motorcar / Tomyang.net Spring event on Saturday, May 2nd, 2009.
2008 Spring event

Last year’s inaugural event saw thirty Vintage Ferraris with at least another thirty interesting cars of different years and makes. We described it as “an event for car guys thrown by car guys.” I don’t think there was any wine or cheese available anywhere! What was available was Vintage Ferrari owners and gear heads joined together to share in their ownership, maintenance, and enthusiasm for old cars. Richard Garre, the owner of Radcliffe Motorcar Company and fellow Ferrari 2+2 owner, wanted to throw a party that he and I would love to attend. It was a chance for East Coast Ferrari owners to come together and talk cars. With easily over 200 people in attendance, I’d say the 2008 event was a success. There was plenty of Vintage Ferraris to look at, enthusiastic owners to talk to, various vendors giving lectures, a grab bag for all attendees,  and a BBQ. You can read about last year’s event here.

This year Richard and I are going to build on what we learned from last year, and bring even more to this event. We’re mentioned on the Ferrari Club of America calendar, so we may attract even more East Coast Ferrari owners. We’re going to continue our lecture series with talks on machine work, interior care, and electrical repairs. We’ll even have a slot car track set up for anyone who wants to race something a little less expensive.

We’re still working out the details of the show, but I wanted to mention the date of May 2, 2009 so you can mark you calendar now. Keep looking to this site for more details as we get closer to this growing event.
