5053: Valve Adjustment, Horn Paint…again

I got to work preparing the second head for installation. The valve lash is a lot easier to set while the head is on the bench with a splined tool and valve lash key. You must not let the head sit flat on the work bench or else you can bend a valve when it is fully open.

Since my car is in the shop, I decided to strip and paint my horns again. This’ll be the third time I’m painting the horns in search of the perfect color. Back in the winter, when I was painting the horns for 3553, I found a color that was very nice. I hope this is the last time!
