Dominick Spadaro Memorial Drive

I took my 330 America out for a drive this past Sunday to attend the Dominick Spadaro Memorial Drive. It’s a relatively new event in the New York City area that celebrates the life of Dominick Spadaro, the founder of “Dominick’s” a well known garage in White Plains that has been open for business for over 40 years. Today, Dominick’s sons, Frank and Santo carry on their father’s tradition of servicing suburban New York’s European Sports cars! This event is a wonderful gathering of Dominick’s clients and friends of the family that started with a breakfast at an estate in Armonk NY.

The Bruno’s generously opened their grounds to all the enthusiasts and a large variety of cars that arrived as the start point of 50 mile drive winding through upper Westchester County, returning for a catered lunch.

I went by myself, so when I realized there was about three pages of directions I started looking for a co-pilot. I could have simply followed another car, but having someone in my car would allow us to break out once in while. It wasn’t long before I met Ben, an available young man willing to go with me on our drive. Although most of the drive was on a wagon train of neat sports cars, we managed to get some open road for a small section and open up the V-12. All in all, it was another fun day out with the Ferrari.

I want to thank everyone who was involved with putting on this event. There were family issues to address this year that fractured the Spadaro family in planning for this event, and I know this put extra stress on putting on a great drive. I know how much work putting one of these events can be, and I know I speak for all those that attended, it was another success. See you next year!

Quail Cocktail Party


I’ll be out in Monterey again this year, and I’d like to invite you to an informal gathering of Tomyang.netters at the Quail Lodge on Thursday August 16th, 5:30-8:00pm. The cocktail party will be held behind the Lodge by the pool overlooking the greens where the big Quail show will be setting up the next day. It’s a great chance to put faces to names that we hear on the Internet, and meet some of the restorers, parts suppliers, and owners of Vintage Ferraris. I hope to see you there!
