Bright Work

I dropped off some pieces with my chrome plater for replating. The bumpers looked pretty good on the car, but not great. As we looked closer, we found other imperfections that should be fixed before plating.

Bumpers, by design withstand the brunt of damage throughout the years, but as these dings and dents add up, they twist and distort the shape of the whole bumper.

Now is the time to fix these dents, but grinding, welding, and polishing is the only way to repair the damage.

It’s funny, when I watch bumpers being repaired on some of the car shows on television, they never show the hours of work involved. I wish it were as easy as it looks on television, but then again it wouldn’t be interesting television to watch someone grind, weld, fill, file, sand, polish, and plate an old bumper!
