Bell Classics

I had mentioned on Facebook I was in London to look at a car, and in less than a few hours,  I was invited to see Bell Classics in Hertfordshire, about an hour outside of London. Simon Campbell, the co-owner, and I have known each other for over 15 years, and have corresponded over the years via e-mail, but never met in person, so I jumped at the chance to see his shop and finally put a face to a name. (The irony is with all the excitement, I forgot to take a picture of us together!)

They had several cars in their shop fresh out of restorations with two SI 330GT 2+2s, and their work shops were as clean as their showroom!

Spread among a few buildings, they also had areas for engine rebuilds, and major mechanical work.

The Bell Classics event was an open house on Saturday morning, and I was pleasantly surprised to see a familiar face driving in his 330GTC to the gathering. I met Howard and his wife this past year in Monterey CA during the cocktail party in Carmel, so you can imagine their surprise to see me at an event on their home turf! It’s a small world, especially when you jump at any opportunity to see Ferrari shops!

Thank you Simon and the crew at Bell Classics for inviting me!
