With the valve adjustment completed it was time to fit the cam cover gaskets to the car.

Cam covers for Ferraris are not like other cars where they simply fit right where they’re supposed to and all the holes line up. A certain amount of cutting and fitting is needed to get them to fit just right, otherwise you’ll be fighting leaks…and then you may still have leaks anyway!

Sometimes holes in the gaskets are completely missing for some engines like this locating pin.

Other holes have to be moved or enlarged to line up with the studs. All this takes time and care not to tear the gasket while fitting it to the engine. With everything lined up and fitting properly, I will use a little bit to RTV to make sure the gasket seals well to the mating surfaces and hopefully without leaks!
