Re: Removing cam covers

About the year 2,000 I think it was, we visited the Ferrari factory. Everything was very clean and tidy, but it was before robots and potted plants. As the cars moved along the production line they paused at work stations where a specific small task was performed. At each of these work stations ther...

Re: 330GT plastic shift lever extension

The early version of the shift lever bushings were translucent (that turned yellow with age) and the more current, stronger versions are dark gray. Dyke, Thanks for your response. The broken top part that Kerry and I found in 2014 was yellow. The "new, old (old, old?)" part that we installed was wh...

330GT plastic shift lever extension

I sent my 330GT to Tom Ellis at his Thomas Vintage Motors to have the clutch repaired. To do this, the transmission was removed. They noticed that the gear shift lever had a huge amount of play, so they removed the top cover of the transmission to which the lever is mounted. The end of the lever is ...

Re: 330GT clutch

Hi Lowell, I guess the best way is to check part numbers, but the SII 330 has the same transmission as the 365GT 2+2, so the clutches could very possibly be the same. Have you called the usual suspects for Ferrari parts, and seen if they have a replacement part? Tom Kerry says that although the lat...

Re: 330GT clutch

Here is a photo of my clutch pressure plate and throwout bearing. Could it be for a 365GT 2+2?

Re: 330GT clutch

Clutch pedal force has never been very large on my Series II car. This is a late Series II with two engine mounts --- the engine is essentially a GTC engine. The engine forms a unit with the transmission. The transmission has only one mounting at the rear. Kerry tells me that this is the transmissio...

330GT clutch

I have already posted this on FerrariChat with no responses. So I thought that I would try here too. I have a 1966 Ferrari 330GT, whose clutch throwout bearing must be replaced. It is a single row ball bearing. Ferrari Technical Letter #62 of Feb. 28, 1967 states that this bearing should be S.K.F. 1...

Re: Vapor lock solution for carb cars

All you have to do is to live in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Some years ago, a large, four lane road was constructed: The Santa Fe bypass. That way trucks carrying all sorts of dangerous or radioactive or whatever material could be shipped south from Los Alamos with out going through downtown Santa Fe. I ...

Re: Bad experience with ANSA exhaust system

I had a very good experience with Mike York and his Timevalve shop. He made left and right-hand side two-into-one exhaust pipes for my 330GT. First he sent me a pair of his standard pipes which he uses as models. I placed them on the car and found that one side was perfect but that the other side ne...

My local ACE hardware store has neoprene washers.

All you have to do is to move to Santa Fe.

Early 250GTE Windshield Washers

I vaguely recall seeing a photo of the engine compartment of a 250GTE that had an engine
vacuum windshield washer system using a Trico Washer bottle mounted on the fire wall.
Was this system used on early 250GTE's or any other Ferraris or is my eyesight poor?

Dyke,

Thanks.

Tiger, tiger burning bright
In the forrest of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

So I'll go with the Baldwin.

Re: PH 2815 Oil Filters, good deed for the day

Do they work on 330GT ?

I have been using a Baldwin filter B253.

I also use this filter for a 308QV.
