Re: Please don't move to only videos :-)

Hi Pete,

I'm glad you liked the videos. Thanks for watching.

I guess if the first owner drove the car in all sorts of weather, it's plausible the floors could have rusted that badly, that fast!

Re: Please don't move to only videos :-)

Hi Pete,

Part of the growth in this community comes from reaching new members on different platforms, and video is growing faster than blogs. I hope to continue to do both so rest assured!

Re: Radiator cap .9 or 1.1?

I have a séries 2 330 GT. I have to admit I never checked the radiator cap… Then I need to clean it up and it occurred to me it’s been with this cap for a long time! Not to point out the obvious, but there may be people who don't know, on SII 330s, the cap on the radiator is a simple rubber gasket,...

Re: Radiator cap .9 or 1.1?

Hi Pierre,

A higher pressure cap increases the boiling point of your coolant, and it also puts more pressure on the system, so it can cause leaks. You can go back to stock or leave it alone if you haven't had any problems.

Re: 62 250 GTE Fuel pump questions

Hi Tom, After reading your reply to my thread am I correct to assume that the car will not run on the electric fuel pump alone since its output is only 3 psi? I noticed that when reassembling the mechanical pump that there was a lot of free movement in the lever before it actually started to actuat...

Re: A well deserved thank you

Thanks Guys! I can't believe it's been over 20 years since I started this website, and I went from one of the newbies to one of the old timers right before my eyes! I never forget that I started in a similar situation but my guide was Francois Sicard, my mentor and friend, who taught me a lot of wha...

HI Cornelis,

I will consider creating a member's area for items for sale. I'll work on it over the Xmas break.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Re: 330 GT 2+2 Rear Frame Repairs?

Yeah, definitely not a Ferrari rear differential. I suspect the replacement rear end may have dropped the drive shaft low enough that it may have been rubbing against that center frame section, so the solution may have been to cut and fabricate a piece that would clear. The stock Ferrari set up allo...

Re: My GTC died on the freeway...argghhhh!

It's funny, my 330's mechanical fuel pump works great up until the ambient temperature reaches exactly 85 degrees F. A degree higher, and it starts to stall at stop lights without assistance from the electric fuel pump!

Re: My GTC died on the freeway...argghhhh!

Seems like I remember a post about a crack occurring in the fuel pickup in the tank. The tank had plenty of fuel but once the level was below the crack you get no or little fuel. Might be worth a look considering it seems to be a delivery issue. Mike On Steve's GTC the pickup is at the lowest point...

Re: 62 250 GTE Fuel pump questions

Hi Andrew,

The electric pump pushes fuel from the rear of the fuel rail and puts out about 3psi. How much does the pushrod move? Its total movement is only about 3mm, so it is critical to set a minimum amount of backlash on the pump lever .

Re: GTE Overdrive

Thanks for the Thanksgiving wishes! Yes, you can test the overdrive with the key on engine off, in 4th gear to see if the solenoid is energized. It will make a distinct click at the tail of the overdrive when the lever is activated. Yes, warm. I found my personal car can sometimes stop working when ...

Re: GTE Overdrive

Hi All, Early overdrives shared the gear oil with the transmissions, while later cars had separate chambers. The way to tell is usually the rear tail section of the transmission will have separate fill plug. It sounds like the electronics are working as you hear the click, but make sure it's coming ...

Re: GTO Engineering

Yeah, not a fan. I can understand people justifying saving a car that was too far gone to save because it was economically unfeasible, but when selling examples for about a million bucks, any reasonable donor will make sense. I know there are friends of mine that disagree with me, so it's often the ...
