Re: Sheet metal screws through firewall and footwell. Correct?

Hi Guys, In my opinion (you know what they say about opinions!) Sheet metal screws that were used for interior pieces like carpets and trim panels were often cut flush with a pair of side cutter pliers after they were screwed into place and if they protruded far out the other side. There's only one ...

Re: 330 front oil hoses

Hi Andrew,

It was easier for them to make changes at the foundry than at the print shop!

Re: 330 front oil hoses

330GTOIL.jpg Apologies if this has been covered before, but I'm looking for some photos and/or sizes and lengths of the two oil hoses from the filter housing down on a 330GT engine. We have some conflicting information here and trying to work out what is correct. Part numbers are 240059 and 240029 ...

Re: Door handle spring

So the latest solution is to buy a used Alfa Door handle and use the spring. From the pictures on eBay, they're similar but different, but as Andrew said, not exactly the same. The spring looks the same, so the cost and time spent making a spring from scratch versus cannibalizing a spring from an ol...

I agree, but it would be nice to keep the original parts with the car. I would have to transfer the lockset over so I might as well fix the spring!

Re: Door handle spring

Hi Mike,

Yes, I'm considering it. Once I figure out the thickness, I'll have to see if I have to buy a whole spool of the stuff!

Thanks.

Re: Tom-Update on electric fuel pump upgrade?

The switch you're describing is a flip type toggle switch? On the earlier cars, we have push/pull fuel pump switches.

Hi Andy,

Thanks for doing these podcasts. I enjoyed listening to them even though I was present the first time! After listening, I have to apologize for interrupting you so often! It's the pushy New Yorker in me!

Re: Electric Fuel Pump Wishlist

Does this make sense? I want the best of both worlds and have the Fispa pump for "show" (Concourse and originality) and the Facet pump for "go" (rally's, long trips, hot TX days). Install both and have a switch under the car near the pumps to toggle back and forth. (I don't want...

Re: Tom-Update on electric fuel pump upgrade?

Hi Ed, All of your favorite Vintage Ferrari Suppliers sell them. Isn't GT car parts in your neck of the woods? There's really on two pieces: the diaphragm and the lower gasket. You have to be very careful when unbolting the plunger making sure you don't screw up the alignment of the points contacts ...

Re: Tom-Update on electric fuel pump upgrade?

yes, electric fispa pump..... got my arms around the mechanics one - but electric one i have not done anything with it yet.... it looks new, but then again, it was in a crate since 1974! Hi Ed, I would definitely rebuild the pump if it still has the old seals. Even if the seals are soft, once it's ...

Re: 365 GTC4 Fuel Pump

Hi Fred,

That's the animal. You may have to adapt some lines, or move them from the old pump, but you should be able to make it work. I would take a peek under there and see if you have one or two before you order.

Re: 365 GTC4 Fuel Pump

Hi Fred, These Facet fuel pumps are readily available and may even be stocked by a local parts warehouse. You may have to transfer some fittings and electrical connectors, but all basic stuff. You may have to drain the tank so the fuel doesn't try to drain out of the tank when you have the lines dis...

Re: Tom-Update on electric fuel pump upgrade?

Hi Greg, It's still running as I pictured it. When I fire up the electric pump, both old and new pumps work, and you do hear a slight steady tap of the old pump working with the modern Facet, but it's not as distinct. There's a slight swish noise as the pressure changes against the facet pump. Jimmy...
