Re: Kerry's restoration website

Hi Kerry, Thanks for keeping your server running and keeping the data alive on the web. Please extend my thank you to Art and a "hello" to him as well. It's been a few years since we've seen either one of you at Monterey, and maybe when the guys at Dennison finish the Coupe, you'll make the trip dow...

Re: 250 Gte front suspension plating

Hi Chris, I've always plated these pieces in Nickel. The differences in plating colors could be from the different manufacturers. ZF my has supplied the steering components and used a different plating process than the suspension pieces supplied to Ferrari. Kerry Chesbro has a handy list of finishes...

Re: Rear lights 250 GTE series II

Hi Martin, I unfortunately don't recall the exact unit I ordered, but I know disassembled the unit to use the internal parts to work for my particular problem. The contacts inside the old one had broken, and I was able to modify the guts of the new part to fit in the old fixture. Although I didn't u...

Re: 330GT clutch

Hi Lowell,

I guess the best way is to check part numbers, but the SII 330 has the same transmission as the 365GT 2+2, so the clutches could very possibly be the same.

Have you called the usual suspects for Ferrari parts, and seen if they have a replacement part?

Re: 330GT clutch

Hi Lowell,

How hard is your pedal pressure now? SII cars have very stiff clutches to begin with!

Re: Rear lights 250 GTE series II

Hi Martin, How bad are they? I don't believe these are readily available. I've restored these units by using parts from a modern socket. Pico is a company in the States that makes sockets. Here's a supplier here that has them: https://www.summitracing.com/search/brand/pico-wiring/part-type/light-bul...

Re: Question for Tom... Vent Windows

Hi John,

All good tips. I usually use masking tape and tape the windows in place. This allows them to stay in place and keeps the frame in shape. No matter what you do, it's a tricky job.

Re: Question for Tom... Vent Windows

Tom, I am talking about the roll up side window channels. john Absolutely glue these in! If the gooey rubber loosens, you will have the ends come out when the window rolls down, and no way to secure them without removing the frames again to re-glue. The factory used glue here too as I've certainly ...

Re: TY Monterey Party

Hi Chuck, Keep looking in this website and forum for the 2019 Montery details. I think I've secured a location for the party, but will confirm when we get closer, probably in May or June. Monterey changes every year, but one thing that hasn't is it seems to get more and more crowded every year. Book...

Re: here's info on air filters

Hi Steve, It depends!! The early 2+2 330GTs have open air cleaners and the later ones have closed snorkel type air cleaners. GTCs I believe are all snorkel type air cleaner assemblies, but they often take a larger element to get around brackets welded inside the assembly. I'll pull that number up wh...

Re: Gauge lighting

Thanks Kerry. It's interesting that the low fuel warning light has reverse polarity from the others. Regarding dimability, all of the instrument LED's I looked at seem to have that same operational voltage range and it seems like dimming worked ok in at least a few user reviews. Agree that the only...

Re: Question for Tom... Vent Windows

Appreciate the tip, Tom. Hey I have one more question. The fuzzy window scraper that mounts on the door's edge, do you mount that before dropping in the frame or after? john It depends. Most times, I find it neater to glue the felt strip on with contact cement and either pop rivet or screw them in ...

Ok, I have something to work on. Thanks to both of you. Tom, I must have thread that blog entry, but it certainly slipped my mind.
You're welcome. No worries. If it wasn't for this blog, I would have forgotten all the things I did myself!

Re: LEDs in Taillights

Hi Guys,

You have to change the flasher to operate the new LED lights that draw less current. Here's a blog entry:
