Re: Weber carb spindle wear

Hi Keith,

It looks like you're well on your way to figuring out a solution.

I wanted to take a moment and welcome you to the forum and to the ownership of your 330!

Re: National Meet

Hi Rob,

You're welcome, as the pleasure was all mine! Sharing the fun of owning and driving these old Ferraris is what it's all about. I'm only doing what I would expect anyone else would do! Now get to work on that car!

Re: Ferrari 250 GTE Hood / bonnet stay springs and brackets

Although I have not held these springs next to one another from a 250GTE to a SI 330, they seem to be the same units.

For some reason, the last post was only allowing me to post one picture. Let's try that again.

Hi Andrew,

I don't have a SI 330 at my shop right now, but here are some pictures of the brackets.

Re: GTC horns

Hi Steve, You probably got it by now, but a couple of points to consider for others doing the same thing. The diaphragms can easily get cut if the horns are screwed in too tight. You can buy thin brass shim stock from McMaster Carr to make new ones. Make sure the air compressor is well oiled as the ...

Re: How do you drive your 250 during break-in ?

In my opinion, synthetics are a waste of money since oil changes should be done annually and most of my customers don't drive enough in a year to take advantage of synthetic's abilities. Also, the tolerances of vintage cars are different than modern cars that were designed to run with synthetics. Tom

Hello lucky break in guys,
With a complete overhauld engine I don´t put in FULL synthetic oil in the beginnig.
it seams the oil scrap rings nead a ceartan friction on the inside of the liners.
otherwise oil consumtion will start.

Re: What color to paint my Series 1 330GT

Hi Guys, I think Michael Greenspan's 330 America looks great in Marrone. It's an original paint car, so there is no interpretation of the color from a painter later on in life. Colors are still subjective, even with the most accurate scanners and modern paint equipment. If I had to describe the colo...

File size is under a 1mb. I think that's plenty for this forum without using all my disk space on the database server.

Re: How do you drive your 250 during break-in ?

There's a lot friction going on inside an engine the first few thousand miles. Rings are seating, bearings are taking a set, and valves are working themselves against their seats. I always feel to be a little gentle with the engine for the first few thousand miles. change the oil to clean away the m...

Re: light knob removal

Hi Guys,

You should be able to post pictures again. Sorry about the delay. I may know how to fix a Ferrari, but running a SQL server, and upgrading software to it is not my strong suit!

Re: GTE Motor Mounts help

If you look at the parts book, there is a spacer for the rear motor mount on a four mount Ferrari engine, but none on the front mount. I apologize not being able to upload pictures at this time, but I'm working on a fix! Otherwise I would upload the picture of the parts book page! If you don't have ...
