Re: 330 GTC Cooling/Fans

Ed,

I imagine you checked this, but if these are lucas motors make certain they are turning in the correct direction. I had just that problem when I installed rebuilt fans on my GTC.

Re: GTC oil hose

Hoses have an outer casework of braided metal. Rather hard to find a replacement. I believe that Dinos may use a similar hose and fitting.

Re: carb settings for GTB

Dyke, Thanks once again, I will pull off a distributor to give better access to #6 carb's backside and confirm the model number. Regarding the fan motors, you have confirmed my suspicion and I do have an electrical guy just waiting for Ferrari electronics to mess with. So I guess I have another week...

Re: carb settings for GTB

Dyke (do I have that right?), Great information and very much appreciated. I had set the foats to 48mm but everything else seems pretty close. You are correct regarding marking on the back mounting flange. Very hard to get in there and see. I don't think it is identifying the carb. Appears to be a b...

Re: carb settings for GTB

The ventures are 32..... I will need to check the base of the carbs for a number. Had looked previously but no luck. I have not removed the carbs and am working with them installed to avoid other issues. Generally, after a careful tune and replacement of accelerator pumps the car runs well but with ...

carb settings for GTB

Does anyone have the correct (ie: official) carb settings for a 1966 275GTB/6C? Carbs do not have a tag but are probably 40 DCN-3 (3 bolt attachment). I have recorded the present set-up but would like to have a more offical answer as to what is correct. Looking for the float setting, all jets, etc. ...

Re: Need help w/ unhappy Daytona

Hi Jimmy. This is the Abarth, a 1959 Record Monza twin cam. Raced by Team Roosevelt at 1959 Sebring. Came in 3rd in class. It started life as a 750cc and was later bored out to 1 liter. The interior was redone in hot rod style which will eventually be changed to its original configuration. When purc...

Re: Need help w/ unhappy Daytona

Jimmy, Nice photographs of the Abarth double bubble. You have done a very nice restoration. Yes they are primitive but so much fun to drive. Who makes the wheels? Are they 12” diameter? Yale reported my wife and I had driven an Abarth 500 across the country some years ago. Actually, it was a Simca A...

Jimmy,

Upload photos of the Abarth, please. They are such wonderful cars especially with Zagato coach work.

Cheers!

I should be able to get this to you over the weekend. Once things are apart I will send additional photos as well as drawings. Glad to help out.

Re: 330 GTC overflow tank

Ed, The strap looks correct. Any indication of rivet hole being filled or otherwise existing in lower body panel? If you cannot get a part, I'd be willing to take my tank assembly apart and provide a drawing of the lower mounting bracket. I don't think having this reproduced would be complicated or ...

Re: 330 GTC overflow tank

Ed, PF was pretty consistent and I suspect the tank was always located in the center. the tank stand was riveted to the lower body panel. Possibly this was lost during some body work event. The GTC strap often had a foam pad adhered to the underside where it contacted the overflow tank. I don't know...

Re: 330 GTC overflow tank

Steve, thanks for the compliment, but to be fair, I have had the car apart for 4 years with the drive train out and suspension removed. I have spent hours and hours cleaning, fixing and detailing so it would be as close to original as possible. In 1986 I totally restored the car so this was just a "...

Re: 330 GTC overflow tank

The GTC overflow tank is located in the center and is held down by a sheet metal strap bolted to the attachment fitting. I have the grill out of my car (1968) and photographed it for clarity. It's possible that this location may vary. Let's see if I can upload the shots.

Re: 330 GTC horns

The original horn color on my car (11043) was (and remains) silver. the horn bodies were hammertone silver and the air tubing red.
