Re: Tell me about the old days!

My dad started buying Ferraris back around 1977 or so. I remember the first time he picked me up for my weekend visit at the Greyhound station in West Palm Beach in a Yellow Dino GT4. Then a 308 GTSi, a 512BB, and eventually a 1986 TR. He never worked on any of his cars. I was usually assigned to br...

Re: Know Your Yangsters

This is me Bill Tracy (BT) getting ready to do some unofficial track driving in my Ginetta. Sadly, I sold my Ferrari 348ts in May.

Re: The Road Trip to Cavallino Begins!

I got the garage all cleaned up and pressure washed yesterday afternoon. Since I don't have a vintage car there is no reason to have oil and radiator coolant on the floor. Now the whole place smells like Gain! I'll use any excuse to clean the garage up.

Re: The Road Trip to Cavallino Begins!

I would not offer to subject Tom and Rich to such a long drive in the Ginetta. That is against several UN resolutions regarding basic human rights and protection from undue cruelty! Plus they would only be able to tote along a camera and one grocery bag, no room for the luggage. I thought they might...

Re: Is it time to Sell?

I sold my 348 in May this year. I considered selling it a year earlier to a friend, but the family vetoed the sale. So I sold more recently, and the price was a bit less than I could have gotten the previous year. I still have a pleasant outlook on my Ferrari ownership experience and would recommend...

Re: The Road Trip to Cavallino Begins!

I'm not going to spoil the story, but Tom, Rich and Mark are on their way back north. Not the most relaxing trip, but it will be a lasting memory and achievement.

Re: The Road Trip to Cavallino Begins!

I just got a call from Mark. The travelling Wilburys are just pulling into our development. Looks like the drive was eventful, but ultimately successful!

Re: The Road Trip to Cavallino Begins!

Never say die Tom! Not using that one front caliper sounds like a decent plan to me. Just give yourself plenty of space when driving and I think you will be fine. If there is something we can work on at my house I am glad to take the day off tomorrow and try to help out.

Re: The Road Trip to Cavallino Begins!

Tom, I would suggest calling Tim Stanford from Fort Lauderdale at 954-764-7824 (that's the number I have for him anyways). He is the guru in south Florida for vintage Ferrari repairs. I am sure he is coming up for Cavallino, and he / you are welcome to use the lift in my garage if he can come over a...

Re: Cavallino 2010

Just to keep this off topic, there are plastic drip pans that you can buy to keep the fluids from damaging the lower vehicle. Usually they are sold at the same place you get the lift, but I know Greg Smith equipment sells them. Check it here: http://www.gregsmithequipment.com/4-Post-Lift-Accessories...

Re: Cavallino 2010

I just returned from the Maranello Madness trackday at PBIR. Only one vintage Ferrari there (a red 250 GTE). Last night on the way to a little car gathering I had a breakdown. It turned out to be OOF (Out of Fuel)... Sometimes I amaze myself with stupidity... Nice garage Tom! I looked over the race ...

Re: Cavallino 2010

Tom K. - Any day / time you want to coordinate with the detailers to use my garage you are welcomed to. Generally people arrive starting Wednesday evening, and depart Sunday sometime. It doesn't matter to me when people use my space to work on their cars, I offer it as a convenience for out of towne...

Re: Cavallino 2010

Mark, the detail guys should be around. To be sure I would give Todd a call. His number is 407-963-1444 or other contact info is here: http://www.belladetailing.com/contact.html If Todd doesn't work out, and you are afraid of Tom's steel wool, I have a 4" angle grinder that we can put some microfibe...

Re: Cavallino 2010

Sounds like this is going to be a great trip for the travelling 12's.... I've got the garage cleaned up, lots of nice pictures on the wall, space for four visiting Ferraris. Looking forward to a great week of Ferrari related events. Tom, if you are going to have your car detailed you are welcome to ...
