There are brake line pressure gauges, just a hydraulic pressure gauge with adapters to fit various brake line sizes:

Re: Bleeding the brakes on a Daytona
Three suggestions: 1. Could the bleed screw itself be plugged up? Remove it from caliper, verify that you can blow air through it. 2. With the brake hose & bleed screw both removed, blow a bit of air into the brake hose port at low pressure. Air & fluid should come out the bleed port. If not, someth...

Even better - have him do the driving test for his license in the GTC. How awesome would that be?

Re: Lower rocker panel trim
Also found a method to determine positively if a piece of metal is stainless or not. It is based on the fact that chromium is what makes steel "stainless". This must be done on raw metal, any plating must be removed first. I haven't personally tried this, but it's on the Internet so it has to be tru...

409 stainless is magnetic.
Most 300-series stainless alloys are not but with a very strong magnet, you feel a very slight tug on the magnet as it approaches the item.
301 stainless is non-magnetic in the annealed condition but when cold work-hardened it becomes magnetic.

Re: 330 GT 2+2 #8379
"I'm just going to do a few small projects for now" Uh, oh. Now you've done it. That's the first sign of FRD - "Ferrari Restoration Syndrome", where in small projects multiply into an endless string of "while I'm doing Project A I might as well do B. And C and D", etc. There is no known cure... Car ...

Re: Trunk seal glue
Hi Tom, you wondered about safely removing the trunk seal glue. I wonder if one of those wheels used to remove graphics from car bodies would work? They are advertised as being paint safe. Mike They're 3M "Molding Adhesive and Stripe Removal Discs". I've seen them used on vinyl graphics and such an...

Re: Oil capacity
The vacuum extractors are popular in the VW world (I own a Golf TDI). The main reason I don't like them is that I like to get under my car when doing an oil change which gives me a chance to poke around underneath and look for problems. Over the years I've caught oil leaks, coolant leaks, torn CV jo...

Re: FS: unique Ferrari grille medallion
Why are you getting rid of it? You could be the only one on your block to own one! Ya know, you just look around one day and ask "Why do I have all this stuff I don't really need anymore?" Besides, like with a vintage Ferrari, you don't own it so much as let it hang out in your house for a bit then...

FS: unique Ferrari grille medallion
Just put up on eBay a very nice piece to add to your Ferrari collection. It's a vintage Ferrari grille medallion. Grille medallions were popular back in the '50s and '60s, not so much these days. This one is in unrestored condition, with plenty of patina. I've never seen one like this on a car, guar...

There are spring shops that do small quantity runs. Might be worth dropping by one with a sample and seeing what a couple of dozen would cost. Here is one shop, local to Kerry: Sound Spring ( http://www.soundspringinc.com ). Haven't used them myself, but ran across them when I was looking for custom...

Re: Crimpin' 101
Has anyone taken the time to list all of the crimped connectors that would be found on a 250 or 330? and their locations? How about any original connectors you have recently serviced? Craig I'm a non-Ferrari owner so I haven't worked on any Ferrari wiring. I did recently assist in repairing and res...

Crimpin' 101
The crimp used in auto wiring is called an "F-type" crimp. To make an F-type crimp you need connectors of the "open-barrel" type. Open barrel connectors look like this: http://www.germansupply.com/home/image.php?productid=16379 The tabs that are sticking up are rolled over by the crimper. The smalle...

I have an OTC #4504 ISO Metric Bubble Flaring Tool Kit. Sears.com carries it, a Google search will probably find other online sources. OTC #6504 is the same kit with a tubing cutter included. The tool works fine, but you have to tighten the nut that holds the tool onto the line very tight or it will...
