Re: The Great Missing Cars

Dear Dave,

As I mentioned on another chat line, it is quite a mystery as to what happened to the second from last 500 Mondial Series II serial 0574/MD after Sbraci ran at Pescara on 8/19/56.

Robert

Re: Help identifying radiator blind control.

Dear John,

Many years ago working on a Lotus Europa with all the cables and sheaths from the foot well to the back of the car I found that a Marine Supply Store had all sorts of different cables and sheaths in all sizes of length and diameter. That might be a solution for you.

Re: Who is going to Cavallino?

Hi Tom and Tom, HelenAnn and I and the blue car will be there. The car was invited back as a previous Best of Show winner. It also will be one of the three cars to be discussed at the Thursday Symposium, so those of you who are coming do not ask me any tough questions. See you there. Best regards, R...

Re: Houdaille Shocks

Dan was Sherman Wolf's chief wrench. He had the complete setup to overhaul and dyno test and set the Houdaille shocks. In 2003 I sent the four shocks from the 500 Mondial to him for overhaul. The total price tag at that time was just under $1,200. The estimated cost for a total reproduction seems in...

Re: Any plans for a TY gathering at FCA Nat'l or at the Quai

Better late than never. Attached is proof that Tom in fact did spend at least one evening at the Stop-In Tavern at Siebkens Resort. Left to right: Mark, HelenAnn, Bryan, Sam and Tom. I can safely say that a good time was had by all. Tom thank you for the help in Bryan's photo escapade. Best regards,...

Re: Who's Coming To The Monterey Gathering?

Hey guys, after attending the latest Garre/Yang extravaganza who would want to go all the way to Pebble Beach??? After all, been there, done that.

Seriously, regret that I will not be attending Pebble this year, sounds like a great time to be had.

Dear Steve, I have not been to the Caymans and do not know where the cruise ships dock. I found out about the museum from a postcard sent by a friend visiting there. However, if you check out the following url it may make sense to you. http://www.caymanmotormuseum.com/new/plan-your-visit/how-to-find...

Re: Mixed Feelings

Dear Yale, I do not disagree about the camaraderie aspect of any car show, but I will say that I personally take great pleasure in answering questions about my car and early Ferrari history and consider it a good show day if at the end of the day my voice is about shot. May I suggest a magnesium tro...
