Sandy McNeil's 250 GTO
Just saw it today racing at Lime Rock (it won after a Dotson [correct spelling?] put up a good fight) and is incredible specimen.
Would it be correct to assume as it is the only unrestored 250 GTO it's the most valuable ferrari in the world?
It's serial number is 3647GT btw

For film buffs this is not to be missed!
(I apologize if this has been brought up previously on the forum, I searched and believe it has not.) WATCH THE FIRST MOVIE LINK! Poliziotto Sprint (1977) an italian film where a 250 GTE (Italian Police) is a major part of the film. Please find a link below where it's in a great chase scene: http://...

sport/scoop hoods
Are the competition sport type hoods authentic for some 250 GTEs? The vehicle at Bonhams listed below has one and I am wondering if this is authentic to the vehicle. http://www.bonhams.com/cgi-bin/public.sh/pubweb/publicSite.r?sContinent=EUR&screen=lotdetailsNoFlash&iSaleItemNo=3937081&iSaleNo=16508...

Buyers agents?
Is it worth hiring a trusted or experienced shop or individual to seek out a 250 GTE for me if I don't have the time and knowledge to sniff one out myself? There are one or two places in CT and MA I would use, but if someone has a person they would recommend in New England or New York, I would great...

also may I add that I was a little sketched out by the car. The odometer was clearly rewound (however the seller fully acknowledged this and was in the process of putting together a seemingly very honest history of the car.) but there were other things like badly patched paint, knock off replacement...

thanks again. I saw the 250GTE I mentioned (see online at www.copleymotorcars.com) but unfortunatly someone had broken the key upon delivery and they were awaiting a new one...I could not take it for a drive. That said, the second I sat in the car it felt perfect. I am very tall (6'7) and had enough...

great advice, thanks guys. It's good to hear that there are no hard line opinions on this one, that my apples to oranges assumption is more less accurate. I have found a very nice 250 for sale in my area and am going to try to get out to see it sometime this week as it may fit my criteria. One other...

New buyer, Islero vs. 250 GTE
Hello all, I am a new buyer interested initially in an Islero, but then realized for a similar price I could move into Ferrari territory and get what I view as being a much more attractive car in the 250 GTE. That said, given that I can spend about ~$90k in initial acquisition, which vehicle will gi...
