Re: Cheney Clamps
In researching Cheney clamps I found that there are three different designs of these clamps used in the 50's & 60's. My information comes from what is posted on the internet on the Jaguar forums. The first design was used in the 1950's. The features of this design are; 1) The CHENEY name on the driv...

Re: Front Suspension
John, Great solution to the front spring install. I was not too keen of the idea loading the coil spring up through the bucket and then holding it in place to install the large circlip. That process seemed very risky assembling a coil spring under compression and controlling it. Thanks for sharing.

Re: 250GT Distributor Caps
On pages 30 - 31 of the book Ferrari by L. Setright is a photo of an early 250 GTE engine compartment. It is the best period reference photo I have seen of an outside plug 250 engine compartment. In this photo the wire support rings are clearly not cad plated. A case could be made that they are eith...

Re: Which 250 Cab air cleaner nut?
For what it's worth the GTE owner's manual shows the three eared nuts being used in all photos of the air cleaner.

Tom, Thanks for posting the photos of your wrenches. They were very helpful. Now I have to find a set of BETA AUTO NO-55 wrenches. The set I have for my car is BETA NO-55. I have another photo request to make. Could post a photo of the top of your 500 gram hammer the shows how the end of the handle ...

Re: Tool Bag. Again.
Tom, Thanks for posting the photos of your GTE tool kit. Was wondering if your open end wrenches are BETA No 55 or BETA Auto 55? Also what are the sizes in your set. There seems to be some debate on this and the contents of your original kit would be a good data point. Could you post a close of them...

Re: 250 Carpet Snap and Trim Washers
Thanks to Tim I now have enough of the original 5 prong carpet sockets and the male snaps to do the carpets in my car. Now if I could get some of the rolled edge trim washers as shown in the photos of my first post that would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 250 Pionion Shaft Seal
Thanks to all that have replied to my query. I measured my original and the seal size is as DWR46 said 60mm OD x 40mm ID X 10mm tall. I will check with a local bearing and seal supplier to locate a match. Roger

250 Pionion Shaft Seal
I need help locating a replacement for a late 250 rear axle lip seal for the pinion shaft input end. None of the usual suspects have it. The original seal has the name TAURUS on it and the numbers 604010 & 0633. Hopefully someone out there has a solution.

Re: GTE "project" for sale...
Since this car is being parted out. I would like to get a few parts off it for my Cab. If possible I would like to get the cup washers from the door trim panels and carpeting and the Carello brake light or reverse light switch. Any help with these parts would be appreciated.

Re: 250 Pinion Bearing Installation
Hi all, The bearing is now safely back in the housing. The solution I used was to freeze the bearing and heat the the housing. The housing was heated for an hour in my oven that was preheated to 400 degrees F. After the heated housing was removed from the oven I was able to slide the frozen bearing ...
