Re: Selling

Sorry to hear that you are selling all of your F-Cars. What a shame. I am in the new car dealership business and we are extremely depressed economically right now. As a result, I'm giving serious consideration to selling my 2001 Carrera and my 1972 R Code Mustang.

Re: Common Oil Leaks?

I have a few oil leaks as well. I've been cleaning them off and watching how bad they leak, as well as logging exactly where they are coming from. My worst one is from the mechanical fuel pump, which I will probably get into next. It is really something that I will plot along with and attack as they...

Wow...That's very cool Rudy. Your Mom looks like she enjoys herself.
I guess we missed each other at the show.

Re: Help! Should the seller fix these things?

I just don't think there's an easy way with any of these old cars. Case in point: A year ago I paid "an expert" (who ran a competing shop and is an NCRS judge) to look over a '66 BB A/C Corvette coupe. He missed the fact that the car's AC didn't work (selling dealer said it worked great), that it h...

French & Italian Car Show

I finally made plans to drive my car since the MSD ignition upgrade. If you remember, I couldn't drive it and could only start the engine because my Borranis were not back from the polisher yet. I finally got the wheels back on Friday and decided I would go to the annual Woodley Park French and Ital...

Thanks for the link Kerry. A job that appears fairly easy, of course, is way more involved than what it appears...awww...Vintage Ferraris.

GS, I work in Woodland Hills so I could always drop by if you run into problems. I went through my mechanical pump before. Straight forward enough. Rudy van Daalen Wetters 1963 GTE s/n 4001 1966 330 GT s/n 8705 Wow, I didn't realize that you were local to me. And of course you are welcome to come b...

GS, Have you had a chance to go through the fuel pumps yet? I just purchased new gaskets for both mine that better withstand the ethanol content of the modern fuels. Rudy van Daalen Wetters 1963 GTE s/n 4001 1966 330 GT s/n 8705 Hi Rudy-I have not gone thru either fuel pump, but it looks like I'll ...

Okay, I got her finished. I set the timing today on both distributors and she started up with ease. Something that I have never experienced before. I couldn't drive her because I won't get my two front Borranis back from the polisher until tomorrow. Thus the reason why I couldn't push her in 4th gea...

Yea, this car has been on ebay a few times. Wanted all the money and then some with a salvage title. I never looked at the car because the price was never in the ball park.

Hi GS, I forget exactly what size it is, but you'll probably have to modify the socket because it needs a thin wall to fit down inside the crank pulley. If this question is to get the engine set to PM 1/6 on your flywheel, you can do this by bumping the starter. Get a remote starter switch and hook...

I used Rustoleum #7765 Regal Red that was recommended to me. I was also told that Duplicolor DS-FM150 Ford Dark Red was also a good match. Kerry's info is very good as well.

Here's a pic from today with MSDs installed and wired (Wires hidden). The distributors are installed now along with the new Pertronix plug wires. I'll work on setting the timing tomorrow and fire her up.
