Tom,
Can you ship me one whenever it's convenient?
What's the best way to send payment? Check or Paypal?
Thanks,
Ron

Re: Interior Dome light lens
Hi Tom,
I was cleaning the interior of 4151 and noticed that my dome light lens is shrunken and slightly twisted on the ends and should be replaced. Do you have any of the wider lenses left? If so, would you be willing to ship me one?
Thanks,
Ron

Re: 250 engine dipstick question
The dipstick in my "63 GTE is 5-5/8" from the tip to the bottom of the plate.

Re: Window Cranks
I can't push the escutcheon in at all on the side where the key should be, it will push in on the rest of its circumference. Either I have different cranks, or the key has slipped partially out (I think its the later) preventing its removal.
Any suggestions?

Window Cranks
How do you remove the window cranks in a GTE? I checked out Tom's post on from when he installed the cranks in his 330, but I can't seem to locate the key to remove mine.

Re: Is Lenny Benson a Broker?
He called my office on Monday, said he had gotten my number from the Register. Represented himself as a private owner looking to buy his first Ferrari. After asking lots of questions about my car, he told me that he really wanted to buy a GTE, that he'd already spoken to Tom Wilson & would I be inte...

Brake Fluid
I have always used Castrol LMA in my cars. LMA is now labeled as fully synthetic and I'm wondering if this is still the best option or if there is something more compatible with the brakes in the older cars?

Try key-men.com. I got spare blanks for my GTE from them a few years ago.

Not a Ferrari
Hello all, This isn't Ferrari related, but I'm hoping to find a use for this car. I have a 1967 Glas 1700 GT on a trailer in my yard that my Dad surprised me with a few years ago. Glas was a small company in Germany that was acquired by BMW in the late 60's. This car has the same engine & I believe ...

Thanks for the reply. As long as I've got the water pump open, should the impeller and bearing be replaced? If so, any ball park idea what the parts would cost?

Re: Rebuild costs
Can anyone give me an idea what it should cost to rebuild the water pump on a GTE? It appears that I have a leak from both the seal and the bearing.
Thanks.

Re: Checking the oil level in a GTE gearbox
Tom,
I found the access cover right where you said it should be, but covered by a layer of insulation. When I first looked I had removed the cover for the overdrive, but didn't see any sign of another panel.
William, I have a series III, sn 4151.
Thanks for the assistance.

Tom
I'll have to check it again tomorrow, but I had the access cover off this weekend and couldn't get to the gearbox fill plug; the fill plug for the overdrive can be accessed though. I was planning on using 90 wt in the gearbox and 30 in the overdrive. I'll let you know what I find.
Thank you.
