yes that would help, however u will need to enlarge the circular slot on the bumper as the tension needed to pull it thru is tight - the ones i installed were no so soft material wise to pull thru.

need the driver side - any decent condition will work - will restore it..

i have a set that i just installed , and u are correct, they need to be taller than the edges of the hinge channel to effectively work. i installed mine and are just barely tall enough - maybe they were made slightly smaller - i dont know, but that is what i believe is the proper installation.....th...
