Re: Leather seats

The best leather conditioner you could find....what brand would that be? There are many types and brands available here in the USA. certainly some are better than others. I would think a paste would be better than a liquid. Am I correct in my thinking?

Re: Annual maintenance

Hello John,
Thank you for your explanation on the timing chain adjustment. I had seen that procedure described at sometime somewhere but was not sure if it was a accurate or reliable method. So, thanks again for your input.

Re: Clutch Slave Cylinder Banjo Fitting

Greetings,
It looks like some nice work on recreating that banjo fitting, however I am curious to know if you have tried the part on your car and how it fits minus the angled off-set between the body and the "barrel' of the part.

Re: Clutch Slave Cylinder Banjo Fitting

I ran across an ad on ebay (Item number: 110780870206) for the rear wheel cylinders for a Mercedes Benz 300SL Roadster which appeared to have the same banjo fitting. As MB has great record keeping and part catalogs, this may be an option.

Re: making spark plug wires...

Hello Steve, I am going to plead ignorance on this one as it is the best excuse I can come up with. Could you please explain this-"one isn't supposed to use solid core wires, but these are spiral wound". What are spiral wound solid core wires and how do they evade the solid core rule? Always learnin...

Re: Clutch Slave Cylinder Banjo Fitting

I believe some Alfa Romeo and Fiat (124) cars used these same parts, you might want to widen your search to include these cars. Hope this helps!

Re: square head bolts

Hi Al, Based on your inquiry and description, and if I am interpreting it correctly, I think the parts you are looking for were also used on Alfas of the same time period and are available from IAP-International Auto Parts. I believe they have a online catalog that allows you to check out the parts....

Re: Anybody see one of these before?

Hi Tom, My 330GT 2+2 came with the same boot, although it was not in as good a condition as the one you pictured. I made a crude mold make a replacement but couldn`t get the correct durometer rubber for its replacement. I think I have seen simular boots offered some place but dont remember where. I ...

Could you explain what they did as far as the restoration process and pics would be worth that thousand words too, also what about turn around time?

Thanks,

Re: More on Ferrari Colors

Hi Tom,
MHO is that 330`s are too large a car to be in bright bold colors. Greys, dark blues, medium blues, browns,(not my choice) black and some greens appeal to me, but interior color should be taken into consideration for the final choice.

Best wishes on a tough decision.

Re: Dying Daytonaspider beauty?

If that bolt is that corroded at that location, what does the inside of the housing look like at the same relative location? All things being equal you would think that the housing should be almost eaten through also? If so why not?

Re: Dying Daytonaspider beauty?

It is hard to believe a bolt could rust that extensively, especially when it is sealed off from the atmosphere. Or is it the chemicals in the fuel combined with the moisture that caused this? Would the use of products like "Heet" or others designed to absorb moisture from the gasoline help to preven...

Re: Binicle Blues

If I am understanding this correctly, you already have the gauge repaired and are attempting to re-install it. As mentioned previously by other members, disconnect the battery, remove the glove box and possibly one of the adjacent gauges to provide access to the gauge. Have you tried putting the knu...
