Re: 5827 for sale, Birmingham, AL

I am taking 5827 off the for sale list as I will be recovering from some shoulder surgery for a while. Maybe I'll try again in the spring. John

Re: 5827 for sale, Birmingham, AL

The response to my sell note has underwhelming. The silence deafening. I hereby recant the firm price. Make an offer over 45 and you may get a Ferrari. I am moving to a salt water environment and have no wish to take this fine auto to the beach. John

Re: rebuild the mechanical fuel pump

John Vardanian in a post on Nov 26 of 2007 shows a schematic of the fuel pump. The items broken in my pump are #2. John calls them "Tabs." I need two of these tabs. JR

Re: rebuild the mechanical fuel pump

Got the untouched/un-looked at mechanical pump back today. Needless to say, but I am miffed at the business I sent it to and the run around I received. But, on to the problem and my plea for help. I inspected the pump carefully and found the problem. In the bottom of the pump are two small arms acti...

Re: rebuild the mechanical fuel pump

I'm sure it will be a while until I get the pump back, but I will endeavor to do correct measurements and post. JR

Re: rebuild the mechanical fuel pump

Thank you all. Now, Richard, about the spacer block. As mine is the original size (I see no signs of sanding, and I am only the second owner) what do I do about determining the stroke of the pump? Do I put it in a vice and press it in and measure and then put the spacer on and turn the engine over a...

Re: rebuild the mechanical fuel pump

Well, I thank you for the replies. And, yes, I had rebuilt the mech myself, but the worn arm defeated me. Now we'll let the experts do it. Thanks again, John

Re: rebuild the mechanical fuel pump

Having received no reply to my query, I have sent the offending fuel pumps to The Healey Works. I also own a vintage Dodge Ramcharger. Do I now own two Italian autos?

rebuild the mechanical fuel pump

Gentlemen, Please help. Does anyone know someone who will rebuild the mechanical fuel pump (including adding some metal to the activating arm) for my 330? I suppose I should also have the electric pump done at the same time, so who do y'all recommend? JR

I too think I have the same problem. I have greatly reduced the thickness of the spacer. My question is this: how do I measure whether enough fuel is being pumped while the auto is not running? Is there some kind of empirical test, such as some amount of time to fill some container? John

Dear T, How many times have I figuratively kicked my butt for selling: 1964 Alfa Julia Veloce Sprint, the best driving car I ever owned; my three MGTC's, always fun, the three XK-E's, trouble every day but sexy as heck; and finally, my first 330 which my girlfriend said spent too much time in my gar...
