Re: What about waterless coolant?
Tom, Initially, I was unaware Francois was using this. When I opened the radiator cap and I first saw it, I thought --oh no I have oil in the coolant! Whatever it was he was using had a grayish color that was floating on the surface of the coolant. I cut thin strips of paper towel and started trying...

Re: What about waterless coolant?
Tom - Francois likes to add a couple of squirts of some kind of oil (Marvel Mystery?) to the coolant which I believe he says helps to lubricate the water pump. Can you please ask him what it is?
Thanks,
AT

Re: What about waterless coolant?
... glad this was brought up. I'm thinking of changing out the coolant on the Daytona as it has been about 3 years. Was going to go with standard Prestone and distilled water at a 50/50 ratio. Just going to drain and not flush. Anyone have thoughts on what's the 'best coolant brand' for vintage Ferr...

Re: Gearbox oil - Daytonas only
Wow, I was hoping more Daytona owners would chime in! Anyway, thank you DWR46 for your reply. I did find out that that in the past, no LSD additive has ever been added, and I've never noticed any chatter. So, I'm going to go with the RedLine 75w90 NS. I did get a 4 oz. bottle of LSD additive just in...

Gearbox oil - Daytonas only
Hi Folks, I know this has already been discussed on the 'oil recommendation' thread, but this is specifically for the Daytona. Thank you for your understanding and patience! I want to go RedLine, but I'm having trouble deciding between MTL 70w80 (plus 4 oz. LS additive) or just 75w90 NS. For the rec...

Re: Oil Recommendations
Thanks Tom.
Would I still have to add a limited-slip additive, or does the MTL 75/90 already have some in it?
Best,
Gianni

Re: Oil Recommendations
Hi Tom,
Which Redline Synthetic would you recommend for the Daytona gearbox - MT 90 or MTL 75/90?
Thanks,
Gianni

Re: Oil Recommendations
Thanks, Tom.
I was looking at the many LS additives available online. Is there a particular brand that works best?
Also, which Redline - MT 90 or MTL 75/90?
Grazie!
Gianni

Re: Oil Recommendations
Hi Folks, I'm looking into trying the redline synthetic in my '71 Daytona gearbox, as I have the 2nd gear syndrome too. Should I use the MT 90, or MTL 75/90? Does one version have a limited-slip additive, and should I use that with the Daytona? I've read that "Redline is also offered in an NS versio...
