Nice engine compartment photo, that is an uncommon view from straight above.

Re: Exhaust popping 330GT

You may be describing a symptom of an exhaust leak. When you say "popping, do you mean a backfire type sound? If so, you may hear it toward the back of the car but it may be originating at a junction closer to the engine. On deceleration there is more unburned fuel getting into the exhaust manifold ...

Re: Vapor Lock 330GT

Hello Kristian, You mention that you refurbished the mechanical pump, but I thought I would mention that some of the valves supplied with the so-called rebuilt kits are not very good. I am assuming you addressed the many wear points in the mechanism to remove all the play because the amount of strok...

Re: GTC Suspension bushing specs. wanted

Thanks for the reply Dyke. haha, yes, I do overthink sometimes. The bushings in the A arms have some sort of friction coating, almost like Teflon, and there is some minor wear to this coating. The inner pin/bushings have virtually no wear at all. I am buying all new parts so that should give me my a...

Re: GTC Suspension bushing specs. wanted

Hi John. My photo shows the inner bushings, which are the loose shiny ones that slip into the outer bushings which are press fit and tack welded into the arms. I am looking for wear tolerance between the two. I guess I will buy all the new parts anyway, and will measure and decide if mine are still ...

Re: 365 Gt 2+2

Brassworks in Northern Ca. may have the correct core, bare minimum they can repair what you have, or may fabricate parts. I used them to rebuild mine, a GTC, which has the oil cooler tubes in the bottom tank similar to your car and the Daytona. They unsoldered it completely and put it back together....

GTC Suspension bushing specs. wanted

I have removed my suspension arms and the inner and outer bushings appear to be in good condition. I would like to know what the diametrical clearance should be between the inner and outer bushing, because If my parts are still in spec, it would save me the removal process of these bushings. Also, w...

The bolt removal trick!

I found a way to remove that bolt without removing the steering box, and It only took 5 minutes once I tried my plan. First remove the only top nut that secures the steering box to the upright support, this is done from above, then drop the bolt down as far as it will go. Bottom picture. Then remove...

Re: GTC suspension removal advice needed.

As Rosanne Roseanna Danna would say "never mind"

I had searched Tom's Blog looking for my answer before I posted my query, but I tried again searching using "GTS" instead of "GTC" and found my answer. I do Indeed need to remove the steering box...UGHHH.

Sorry for the interruption.

GTC suspension removal advice needed.

I am restoring my 330 GTC suspension, I have hit a snag removing the left front upper “A” arm. I can not remove the front pivot bolt, the steering box interferes with it slipping out. Is there a secret to getting this bolt out? It appears that the steering box needs to be disconnected from the shaft...

These are available for the 330 GTC as a reference, and maybe they are the same as the 250?

Re: Driving the wheels off, really!

The remaining bolts had no lock washers but the nuts were still staked on, albeit quite loose.
I will check out the other wheels next week as I already took them off and put my Borannis on for now.

Re: Driving the wheels off, really!

Those thinned out bolts must have been machining themselves by spinning and vibrating on the steel splined hub. Of course five of the bolt ends and nuts were MIA, The lesson is never ignore the slightest noise or anomaly, I though it was going to be a bad half-shaft U joint. Happy new year to all! T...

Re: Driving the wheels off, really!

The wheel was really loose when I jacked it up and wiggled.
