Re: Heel Pads for 330 GTC

I bought a bunch for a few cars that aren't ready for upholstery that I'd sell you but first I have to see if my supplier any more. It is a fine basket weave pattern without any boarder and is simply top stitched right to the mats.
Let me know if this is what you want.

Re: Fispa fuel pump...

Tom and all, I have made a little test stand with pressure gauge and have had success making all kinds of configurations work from the original check valves to the goofy looking aluminum disc check valves. I let fuel sit in them overnight to make sure the material holds up and test them over and ove...

Re: Ice Storm

Glad to hear that you and your family are OK Tom I know what Tom is talking about with the sound of trees breaking. We had a ice storm that put an ice coating of about 1-2 inches on every tree branch and when a large limb couldn't take the weight anymore it popped like a huge cannon! THese were not ...

What I want to say is that other than the beautiful and advanced design of the engine there is nothing that makes rebuilding it unique to other engines. Your average hot rod shop Chevy V-8 man could overhaul one with no dramas. Like any engine there are some things to look out for such as where to g...

Why is everyone so interested in overhauling engines? This is the easiest part of restoring a Ferrari. You want a difficult job, rebuild your window regulators or try to get all of the interior trim pieces to look good once they get re-upholstered. A Ferrari engine is like any other engine, piston c...

My shop provides the mechanical support on the rallies so I get to see the event from a different perspective than the participant. From what I gather, there are a number of like-minded, passionate business men and car guys having a blast. You will no doubt enjoy the participants and link up with so...

There are a few different styles of "inserts" for daytona style seats. Some have vent holes with little screens, some inserts are textured with tiny cross-hatching and various other minute differences. Re-originals sells a seat cover that is labeled as having been made from the original dyes but I h...

Aircraft engines

Tom, Great post on the aircraft engines at the Museum. What I cannot fathom is how much they must have cost to build when you consider the design and testing costs. It is not as though they made over a million as Toyota has with there much less complex22R engine! The stress and longevity testing alo...

I think 500lbs should be added to each of those figures. A Daytona and C/4 weigh nearly 4000 lbs. Ferraris are absolutely not light cars!!

I did not think that they were Nickel. I am quite sure that the repro's are zinc, just a very silvery finish while silver cad has more of a marbelized green/yellow in it. THanks Chris for helping with this. Whenever I have seen a industrial dull nickel flash that it is a very even platinum/dull look...

Acorn Nuts for 250's

Can anyone shed some light on a very boring subject? I am pretty sure that 330/365 and later had zinc plated acorn nuts for the cam covers and the intake manifolds but what about the 250's? Were they plated in Silver cad or in Nickel? I assumed they were done in silv cad but I have a very original G...

There is a way to test the water pump spring. I bought a new problematic seal and pressure tested the pump by using a standard cooling system pressure tester. I plugged the inlet and pressurized the outlet. An original spring held 40-50 psi and the new spring held 15PSI!!! I now do some mods to the ...

I am not interested in naming names because I know that the different suppliers are struggling to provide good products and I cannot continue business without them. What is irritating is when you buy 12 piston/ring/clip/pin sets that are supposed to be matched and get a few defective oil rings or ri...
