Re: Rocker Rollers
I've had my share of these failed rollers; have to say it's pretty unnerving. I think the bronze insert becomes detached from the roller, then it spins independently and wears itself thin. Someone told me if you chamfer the edges of the bronze insert then it's less likely to become detached. After a...

Re: GTE door trim
Ron, I believe you need to tap upward from the bottom edge. Tape the piece and don't hit it directly; use a block of wood or something semi-hard.

Re: Securing plate for droop stop rubber
From my experience, it takes a great deal of force (even with lubricant) to insert today's #45 in the hole that is in #41, which makes #46 and #47 unnecessary.

Re: Plug wire installation
Ed, the grommets make this task especially tough. I typically pull them from the exit holes with a pilot string. Pull the cable right up to the exit hole, then, if necessary, fish it out with hook.

Re: Handbrake red button - looking for one
It's just a cylinder with a threaded hole at one end, correct?

Re: Coil oil fill-up
After the EPA mandate, the large scale utility transformers were simply drained, flushed and refilled with mineral oils. There is no compatibility concern, like you might have when converting from DOT4 to DOT5 brake fluid.

Re: Coil oil fill-up
Mineral oils are non-PCB and are used nowadays in utility transformers. The vintage automotive coils operate in a similar high voltage environment as the utility transformers. The paper inside both is really the insulator. Paper alone is an okay insulator, but once it becomes impregnated with oil it...

Speaking from my experiences, the accelerator pumps cannot be effective if linkages are set not right.

Re: Weber DCZ6 Flat Spot
While cruising, is there a "sneezing" from the carbs when you press the gas pedal? I had this issue.

Re: The 10th new Ceam electric switch
My problems with these switches were mostly due to loose fasteners. The brass nut/bolts become loose and the blades start overheating the switch and either burn the Bakelite or end up shorting ignition. Here you can see some evidence of overheating. Each fastener from inside holds a blade and from o...

Re: Ptoblems with seals for front and rear screens
Martin, is the seal molded unevenly or does its cross-section change from one point to the next? If not, then the seal is not your problem.
