Re: Summer activities

Hi Tom. What specific belt did you use on a 2 alternator 365?

Re: Summer activities

I just finished replacing the #&(`+>/@ fanbelt on my US version 365 GT 2+2 with two alternators. The parts book says it is a Goodyear Polyflex 11 mm x 825 mm belt. There is NO way an 11 mm wide belt could make it between the crank pulley and the A/C compressor mount bracket. You would have to take o...

Off Topic - National Motorists Association Foundation

As some of you know, the National Motorists Association is the organization most responsible for getting the National Maximum Speed Limit eased in 1987 and repealed in 1995. I have been involved for a long time and am now a Board Member and Executive Director of the NMA Foundation, our 501(3)c non-p...

Re: Radiator fans

That was a clever solution, Tom. With my US model Queen, the issue was that the former owner had removed the massive fan motors that more resemble starter motors in power and size, and replaced them with the aftermarket twin fans in the slim frame. I think he had problems finding the special plastic...

Re: Radiator fans

I have a set of twin fans in a frame that were in my 365 when I bought it. I have returned to using the correct HUGE twin fans that were stock on the US version. This non-stock set was noisy but cooled well. They would need new relays. PM me for details if you are interested and I would accept modes...

Re: Thank you - Tom Shaughnessy

Tom S. has bailed me out of several problems, not for free - but at realistic prices. I find him to be a totally reliable source of parts and accurate information for lovers of classic Ferraris who want to keep the savable ones on the road.

Re: Hibernation Start Ups

Starting with a fully charged battery, I crank intermittently with rest periods, a wide open throttle, and the ignition off until I see a tiny blip on the oil pressure gauge. Then add the ignition plus a couple of pumps on the throttle and it fires right away - with oil pretty much throughout the en...

Re: Halda Speed Pilot parts source

With my long time navigator Terry Palmer, I competed in SCCA Pro Rally events for many years. Pro Ralliests used a lot of Halda equipment. We know of two ralliests who collect Haldas and may be able to help. Please mention our names for identification when you contact them. Jerry Shiloff jshiloff@co...

Re: BORRANI SPARE WHEEL TIE DOWN BOLT

I also bought a pair of the reproduction inside handles from TS for my 365 GT 2+2. The ends of both of mine were broken and the replacements simultaneously look good and work properly.

Re: window hand crank

For Yale and Dick,
I wasn't trying to be evasive, I just couldn't check my records at that time.

Now I have checked, and I cannot find that receipt. From memory, I paid $125 and it was likely in 2007 prior to the FCA meet in Corning that year.

Email gt40mirage@aol.com or just wait a bit, he might reply from the thread.
Prices change with supply and demand and I got mine several years ago. I have always found his prices to be fair.

Re: Dwell Setting

I am with Tom on this one. There is nothing wrong with properly set points. I used conventional points and a quality coil in a Pro Rally Volvo with 12.5:1 compression and a usable 5,000-8,300 rpm range for competition purposes.
