250GTE Fuseboards and Brackets: Free!
I am trying to get rid of all of the excess crap that I have in the garage. I tried selling them on ebay, but no luck. I have two 250GTE Fuseboards with brackets, one SI and SII. They are free to anyone that wants them, just have to pay for shipping. See attached photos. Brian Fusebox1.jpg Fusebox2....

Re: Brake Lubricant
I used to use the red lucas rubber grease to assemble rubber brake components. While is worked very well on brake caliper and wheel cylinder seals, it was so thick that it tended to cause the pistons in brake and clutch master cylinders to stick, especially if they sat for some time before being ins...

Re: What should i do with Alt and Starter
I would recommend having Tim as Select Electrics http://www.selectelectrics.net/ rebuild your starter and alternator.
He does the rebuilds for our shop, and does a top notch job.

Re: Wire wrapped oil/fuel line removal
Rutlands is incorrect, The new hose is much larger than the original hose. You will have a hell of a time trying to use the original ferrules on tehe new hose. However, you can use the original ferrules for the next size smaller hose. So the old 10mm ferrules will work on the new 8mm hose, and the o...

Re: fuel pipe
Ferrari used 10mm OD copper plated steel tubing for the fuel pipes that run from the front of the car to the rear. The fittings on these pipes are silver soldered on. Some of fuel pipes that have tight bends in them are made from 10mm copper pipe that is cadmium plated (for example the Y pipe that t...

300 ft/lb is a little too high. I would recommend 270-280 ft/lb. That is what we use in our shop. Anything more than that, and it becomes very difficult to remove the knock-off with a hammer. Be sure that the surface of the knock-off that touches the wheel is lubricated with grease (not antiseize) a...

Nobody makes replacement shim washers for Ferrari control arms. I just get phosphor-bronze rod stock and machine it into a tube that has the same ID and OD of the washers and then cut off washers in the desired thickness. I then machine the eccentric grease grooves on the lathe and file the notches ...

The tach drive from a C4 will not work on a 365 2 cam motor. The cams on a C4 spin in the opposite direction from those on a 2 cam motor, so the gears in the tach drive are different so the tach cable will spin in the correct direction. The tach drive from a C4 will only work on a 275 4 cam or a 365...

The fuel rails should be chrome plated. Just make sure that the plater knows that the sealing surfaces for the banjo bolts should be flat. Sometimes they polish the crap out of the surface in order to remove all of the imperfections with no regard for critical sealing areas. On early fuel rails with...

One thing to note is that the first photo shows the new regulator mounted on top of the original diodes, this caused a short. The new regulator must be insulated from the diodes. I ended up removing the diodes or cutting the leads to them and anything else that the back of the regulator was touching.
