Re: here's info on air filters

Tom, you're right...i don't know that the GT cars use the same filters as the GTCs....ooops, me bad. But, at least on my GTC, those filters do work fine, fitting the internal clips and round abouts, so it is three singles, not one large, slinky filter like on my Daytonas. s

here's info on air filters

As one might surmise, the air filters for a 330 GTC are like the GT cars:

Wix 42148 or Napa 2148

Not sure why my pictures disappeared, maybe because I used some cheapo camera, but as Art knows, I"m happy to send the pictures to anyone who wants them. steve

let me try to get to this in the next day or so. I'm really afraid to fool with mine, as "the enemy of good, is better". s

Fixing holes in the glove box door

Tom, I too, would love the name of someone who could repair the holes that have been pretty well "puttied" where a dash plaque once lived, on my GTC. thanx. s

Re: Weber carb spindle wear

WOW! I'm impressed that you had the balls to really take this thing down! Pretty big deal...the parts and advice might be available from the Weber master, Mike Pierce. Super nice and knowledgeable guy. www.piercemanifolds.com He has all the tooling and expertise to rebush and repair these carbs. BTW...

Re: 161K KM, Sanden AC, grommets, update

having just put a new York (or is that New York?) compressor in my GTC, I much admire your efforts and the move to a better comprssor (in every way). Might need your help should this one fail in the future, so save you work! Well done, indeed. s

Re: GTC horns

Tom, thanx again for the tips. Hope to get out there to finish this part of the project this AM. (sorry we didn't make the party in Monterey...the weekend there, tho' fun, has gotten to be outrageously expensive, so we voted with our Visa card. For us, your party and the chance to see old friends an...

Re: GTC horns

OK, on the bench with my compressor providing the ooomph, i got them to work by screwing the trumpet much further down on the diaphragm than I had previously. Now, I can install and fine tune (couldn't resist that easy pun). Thanx John for pointing me in the right direction. s

Re: GTC horns

So, there is no reason that they shouldn't work. Right? Can they be bench tested, not for fine tuning, but just to see if they work as they should? thanx. s

GTC horns

Finally closing in on the engine R&R on my 330 GTC (too bad i don't get paid by the hour!). Decided to paint the horn trumpets since I'd run out of stuff to do (not) and they were, well, right there beggin' for a fresh coat of paint. Of course, they worked great when I removed them. The (compressor)...

Re: How I grew to love Copiglia band clamps (not)

Thanx for the hint Kerry. I was speaking with Ed Montini about the %^**&%# Cheney clamps, which, tho' "correct" for our cars, are truly junk. (Even the source, XKs Unlimited, so much as says so in their instructions.) Ed suggested a modification here, and that was to put some gasket sealant (he like...

How I grew to love Copiglia band clamps (not)

When I was a medical student, one of the first maxims I learned was “when you're up to your ass in alligators, it’s hard to remember that you originally came to drain the swamp”. That sort of explains how I came to care about the semi-obscure Copiglia clamp/band clamps, when all I really wanted to d...

Re: A ridiculous detail...

Glad to see someone else in the weeds on "ridiculous details"...you may be the only who knows or sees it, but it's pretty darned cool and a point of pride (as long as you don't divulge how long you spent on it!) s
