Re: DAYTONA ALTERNATOR
Thanks Jim. Ironically, I decided to test it once again this morning and with the engine revved to about 2000 RPM, the battery shows a charge of 14.5 V. So I believe all is well and that the voltage regulator is also OK. I thought about the VR, but decided, the problem was solved and indeed it appea...

Re: DAYTONA ALTERNATOR
The Denouement: I just can't crawl around and do the things I used to be able to do, so I had my usually reliable mechanic come over and remove the alternator. Before doing so, he said the belt was not slipping and that it was fine. With the alternator out and having been tested by expert shop, I re...

DAYTONA ALTERNATOR
I have owned my Daytona for about 12 years; even with the AC on, it seems like it always showed it was charging with the revs above/about 1500 RPMs. I drove the car recently and no matter what I did , AC on or off and revving it to3000 or 4000 ot still would not put the gauge in a charging range and...

Ultrasonic cleaners
Thinking about cleaning some carburetor parts and other small parts ,and would like to know if anyone has had experience with an ultrasonic cleaner.
If so, what brand did you buy? What cleaning solution do you use in it, and how much time and temperature for carburetor parts? Thanks Steve.

Re: Gasoline and fuel filter housings 2 questions
Martin, Thanks for your reassuring response. Misery loves company! I suppose that if I would've bitched and complained enough, MPI would've sent me another decal, but honestly, I did not want to repaint that #%^&^&&&^%# canister again. Just praying that I wouldn't have to do it all over anyhow, shou...

Re: Gasoline and fuel filter housings 2 questions
Perhaps a stamp or stencil is the best answer, as the decal from MPI/ Kilimanjaro is worth less than the paper upon which is printed. Even after 30 minutes sitting in water, the decal did not slip off its backing as it should have. It was difficult with which to work, and doesn't even look that grea...

Re: Is this an example that requires technical bulletin front shock repair?
In the BaT listing, it looks to me that from picture #197, in the lower left-hand corner, you can see the appropriate welding has been neatly done. Nice car. There will always be a million things to do, but one thing I would get after is to repair and protect that battery tray from the apparent rust...

Re: Gasoline and fuel filter housings 2 questions
Thanks Tom, My gray canister has a yellow sticker, not a stencil. It seems to me I got it sometime ago from Kilimanjaro. Thanks again Steve.

Re: Gasoline and fuel filter housings 2 questions
To the Pros from Dover: Thanx again. I am glad not to fool around with any sort of coatings inside the housing. I will just be bead blast it once more and we'll it give it a go. Thanks again, Steve.

Re: Gasoline and fuel filter housings 2 questions
Thanks Dyke, The station that has the 87 ethanol free did have 92 ethanol free, but they discontinued it because they couldn't sell enough to make any money. I was probably one of the few people who bought it! I'll give the 87 a try with some octane booster. Thanks, s.

Gasoline and fuel filter housings 2 questions
Some years ago, I noted what I thought was rust and corrosion within the fuel filter housing of my 330 GTC. I cleaned up the inside of the housing and painted it with a fuel tank preserver called "Red -Kote". About two or three years later, I discovered that the "Red-Kote" material had come off, and...
