I have just removed my front springs. I don't think that they have ever been out. I can e-mail pic. of the engraveing to who ever needs them. I have also made a spring compressor to get the springs out with the car apart. I have pictures of it and how it works.

new horse
The horse on older cars are chrome plated brass maybe 69 and older.
Not shore of the year but they switched to alum. with a brushed finish.
This copy is made of .110 thick stainless and will be offered polished or
with a brushed finish. It would take to chroming very well.

I have made silicone molds of parts before and it is a very good way to make a mold for a few parts but there is a slight chance of hurting the orginal part. Using the scan will give you the chance to do the changes you will need to do to get the inner parts you will have to adapt to the new cap. wi...

ct scan
I was told by the person who will be doing the suface work that if you can scan the part with a ct scaner all he will need is a point cloud to then make the solid model.

scans
The 3d scan I think gives the best results is a Atos scan this will take a series of degital pictures with registation points on the part.
