You might want to ready what I wrote on outside mirrors for the 330 GT 2+2 model. It would apply to a GTC.

Re: Marchal headlamps
Yes, early 330 GTs did come with Marchal headlights. However, the body parts manual just shows the whole headlight bucket assembly including the headlight as a single body part number. So, the body parts manual does not specify exactly when Ferrari changed from Marchal to Carello headlights.

Stuck bolts
One thing that I always do is to thread a nut most of the way onto the bolt, before using the press to push out the bolt. I leave a few threads of the nut protruding. The nut puts the pressure onto the threads thus preventing any destruction of the end of the bolt. This is particularly important if ...

Re: Handbrake red button - looking for one
Thank you Kerry, yes the dimensions would help a lot! The bulb is still there but the light is not working. I'm out of town skiing for a couple of weeks, so it will be a bit. As I mentioned, the wires are probably cut inside the leather boot. Take it off and inspect them. Check the bulb first as th...

Re: Handbrake red button - looking for one
I don't have a spare, but this would be easy to reproduce using a 3-D printer. If you want to make one, I can measure mine so you have the information you will need. Another choice would be to find some red plastic rod of the right diameter. Then drilling a hole and rounding the top edges would be p...

PF Coupe went over 100K km the other day
On the way to an FCA event, the odometer rolled over 100K. I was on the freeway, so it was possible to safely pull over to take pictures.

Chrome plating
I have found using electrical wire shrink wrap very effective way to mask off parts of an item to prevent the plating process from destroying parts or having some portion plated where you don't want it to be. It comes in various diameters from a size to cover the threads on a small screw up to an in...

Wow. What a great and happy surprise. I look forward to seeing you again. But, this time it’s not in Westbrook. See you soon. Michael Oh, OK. Changed hotel reservation to be near Redding. Same long-term forecast, rain Saturday and OK Sunday. Probably go to Stonington on the off day and do some rese...

Re: Ptoblems with seals for front and rear screens
The J section of the stainless steel trim may not be fully seated in the slot in the rubber. That could hold the trim up off the rubber in places. You might have to remove the glass again and make sure that the rubber is flush with the trim all around before re-installing it. You might try tapping i...

Re: Rear axle drop stop
Kerry had the luxury of working on a SII 330 that has less leafs in the spring because his car has the additional coil springs to support the vehicle. Earlier cars like SI 250GTEs and early 250s have many more leafs for the rear spring putting a lot of tension on the shackle. I don't think it could...

Re: Rear axle droop stop
... The limiting cable has to allow enough travel of the axle, but not too much to allow the leaf spring to pop into the "over center" position. Getting the spring back to correct placement after it happens is pretty involved! Tom I fought this issue several years ago and found a simple solution us...
