Hi P, welcome to the best site.A lead hammer is old school but there are sockets made that work great with no danger of hurting the wheel, Mike

Re: What color to paint my Series 1 330GT

Hi Rob, It was quite some time ago when I spoke with Mike about the McQueen Lusso. While he was very nice on the phone as I remember he did not seem interested in giving out whatever code he might have had.He did emphasize that it was a distinct custom mix and that I should not be misled by how it ap...

Re: Tell me about the old days!

While I cant comment on the Ferrari world of the 60's etc, Tom's take on today is spot on as to folks fixing stuff. As I sneak up on 68yrs I note that I have been pulling wrenches both as pro and for "fun" for more than 50 yrs.At first it was to learn and also to be able to afford a car.It was just w...

Re: Vapor lock solution for carb cars

H I Kerry, two questions come to mind. Are you unable to source non ethanol fuel and have you tried and failed to address the cause of the vapor lock itself? Best,Mike

Re: Glass Polishing

Hi John, I had some luck using watered down toothpaste and a random orbital sander on a vent window .That was a long time ago and being a dentist I am partial to toothpaste. It did remove a few very fine scratches and cloudiness. I do imagine that the kits available now would do better. Good luck,Mike

Re: What color to paint my Series 1 330GT

Hi Rob, I can tell you that Michael G's car looks great in it's Marrone. There are different shades as my C4 is also designated Marrone but of a different era ,1971 and much lighter.I have spoken with Mike Regalia the guy who did the resto on Steve McQueen's Lusso and he indicated that the color, whi...

Nice post Michael. It is great when it all works out and you can really enjoy those drives. But even when these cars are a PITA at times I find the ownership experience is still fun unto itself. Mike

Re: 365 GT 2 + 2 restoration

Hi A.D., you could put the cap ends of the a known good wire in the spot off the cap that is not firing.Make sure to switch the plug end as well. If the strobe lights up the wire is at least OK.A test meter should also be able to show if any individual wire has continuity or too much resistance.Taki...

Re: Daytona Cooling and Water Pump Rebuild

Hi Drew, I have no experience with the Daytona but I would first check that the radiator is doing its job. Feel along the entire core while the car is at operating temp and make sure there are no cold/cool spots.Good luck,Mike
