Re: Fred Petroske

Hi Folks: Maybe I missed the post, but when I stopped by Fred Petroske's place in Chaumont New York this past week, I learned he had died last June at age 62 from a brain tumour that had left him ill for two years. Fred was very helpful when I was looking for a car in 2004/5 and I enjoyed his eclect...

Re: Front Wheel Bearing Preload - 330GT

I had to do my front wheel bearings when I got my 330 gt 2+2. You will not find the bearings in any catalogs, I looked high and low. They are custom and will need to be purchased form a Ferrari parts supplier. On the plus side, they have lower rolling resistance than taper roller bearings! Make sure...

Series I headlight gaskets

Hi: I tried to get headlight bezel gaskets for my Series I a few years back with no success, and am now trying again. My car has nothing between the headlight and fender metals, so I have no reference old parts, and in the parts picture below it appears there are two parts, a thin plastic rim, Part ...

Re: 330 2+2 starter removal

Hi Folks:

Starter solenoid draws current, but no starter action, guess it has to come out. Is there any way to do this without removing a manifold?

Re: Our friends in the path of Sandy

My heart goes out to all the folks in the path of the storm. What a week for you. We had 10 days in winter with no power here in Eastern Ontario in the ice storm of 1998, and it is was an interesting time. Our population is so much less dense and roads and bridges were all functioning after about 10...

Re: 250 GTE sn 4063

Hmm....

No doubt that with those side strakes, this is the long sought after Testarossa body prototype. I sort of like those flares on the back fenders, maybe since my car needs some body work anyway....

Is this a secret project from Tom S.??

Hi all:

Must admit, the images in the recent Octane magazine made me wince just a bit.

Thanks Tom and Richard

My son Tim and I had a great day at Radciffe Motors. The low key atmosphere and access to see under as well as above various Ferrari's was a rare opportunity. It was also good to say hello to Warren and Yale, meet Kerry and for Tim and I to chat with the Admiral and share his enthusiasm. As much as ...

Re: 250 GTE floor

The foam material looks to me like isocyanurate insulation foam, which certainly was not invented when that floor was made, and the fact that the self tapping screws are shiny makes that whole layer appear added very recently.

For all those who helped with the electrical glitch. The last of the fall fun, to be played on those cold rainy winter days.

Re: 1st time Ferrari Owner

Hi Howser: If you have not already, you probably want to talk to Fred Petroski at http://www.mostlybritish.com/ A few years back, he had one 250 GT car (with chassi) and very rough body. I was considering buying it, but the body was more tnan I was up to taking on in resoration time or funds. Your c...
