Daytona Exhaust Paint
Looking at my Daytona exhaust, whicn needs to be repainted, the silencers/mufflers appear to be wrinkle coated. However in examining detaild pictures of Daytona undercarriages, like the ones on Mike Sheehan's site they appear to be just regular semi-gloss black - no wrinkle. Can someone state what w...

Borrani Sticker Location and Orientation
Can someone tell me the correct location and orientation of the Borrani sticker on a wire wheel.
I believe it is opposite valve stem on hub facing outward. But guessing.
Thanks,
Drew

Re: See-thru tuning spark plugs
Ok - now I am understanding 950 vs 1250RPM.
I really do not remember, and maybe that was my problem on the Daytona, as as you get everything synced up the idle tends to increase.

Re: See-thru tuning spark plugs
Steve,
If I remember correctly, I had a little difficulty reading them in bright sun light. I ended up pulling the cars into the garage to read the color. I think I was looking straight down the spark tube hole when I did this.

Re: See-thru tuning spark plugs
I used the color tune to tune my BB512 and Daytona.
It worked perfect on the Boxer.
On the Daytona I found it tuned them towards the lean side as I had trouble maintaining idle. Another half turn open did the trick.
Good tool for the price.

Re: Gearbox oil - Daytonas only
I originally had 75 90 gear oil that contained the LS additive on a recently rebuilt Daytona transaxle. I would occasionally get a grind going first to second. About a year ago I put in the Redline 75 90 NS. I had the 4 oz bottle of LS in hand but decided to try it without it. The car shifts perfect...

Re: Daytona Door Stop
The doors on my Daytona do swing out very wide. Mine do not have any sort of interlocking stop. Was the same with the Daytona I had previously as well. Think it is just made that way.

Motor Mounts
Tom, I followed your motor mount issue on the 330 GTC with interest. They look very similar to the ones on the Daytona I got done replacing this spring. Two interesting things happened once I got them installed. With the engine sittling a little higher and in my case a little farther back I found I ...

Daytona Shifter Bushing Replacement
I want to replace the shifter bushing (one at the bottom of the stick shift) in my Daytona. Once I pull out the upholstery I can gain access to the shifter box. From the parts catalogue it looks like the entire shifter box can be unbolted and pulled up giving access to the bushing. Or do in need to ...

CLEANING AIR HORNES
One of the airhorns on my Boxer is off. The compressor is putting out plenty of air and is well oiled. One of the horns is great but the other is weak and puny. This is intermittant. There are no restrictions in the line. I was reading that sometimes gunk or excess oil can accumulate on the diaphram...

Daytona Alternator Rebuild
My Marelli alternator gave up the ghost today. Fortunately the battery had enough power to get me home. It is a Magnetti Marelli GCA 113 A, 12V-55A. After performing a number of diagnostics I am confident it is the alternator. I do not want to switch over to the Delco Generator Conversion. Has anyon...

Reasonable question. I can't remember exactly how the yellow hose is constructed. It may be that the sheath in question is internal to the hose as well; an internal liner. If you get a chance cut the old one you have in the picture apart. I did this for Steve Ahlgrim a couple of years ago, putting s...

Yellow Fuel Hose
Tom, I saw your note on the yellow fuel hose where the black rubber had began to disintergrate and thought I would post a couple of comments related to that. At the request of one of the parts houses that was having problems with the yellow fuel hose a year or two ago, we did some unofficial testing...
