Re: Daytona AC Belts

With two belts, the trick is to get a "matched set". There is a mold number as belts are made multiple belts wide and cut apart after making. The number molded into the belts indicates compatible belt sets. Often they are sold taped together with tape indicating " Matched Pair".

Re: Red rubber protection hose

I have the same problem and tried the 3/4" red heater hose, but it is too tight to get the new size 10mm fuel hose through it. Need a slightly larger metric hose. Any advise from someone who has solved the issue?

Re: old seat frames - 250 or 330 ?

Due to the appearance that the seat back adjustment is made by a three sided stop, I would place them a series I or II GTE. Do you happen to have a set of the Stainless covers for the hinge pins? Thanks. Bob Arthur #2693

Re: Enlarging Valves

Thanks Dyke: just wondering if there is a downside of doing this. Do not want to increase the chance of new problems.

Enlarging Valves

I am in the process of having a machine shop replace my valves, valve seats and guides in my early GTE (2693) heads and thought it might be feasible to increase the size to the later specs. I will reuse the same cams. Does anyone have experience with this? I will probably need to rejet the carbs for...

Re: Ignition system

I know the early GTE's used a Coil with a Capacitor (or resistor) soldered directly to two different posts than the power wires. Does anyone know
when this change came about?

What part do you need? The surrounding casting, or the button portion of the mechanism?

Perhaps a "Modern" fluid could cause the same problem.

Re: Brake problem in my GTC

That is exactly what happened to our SWB mc after I switched to Silicon Fluid and the seal swelled up to the point it blocked the return port to the reservoir. It only took a few thousandths to block the port.

Re: Brake problem in my GTC

Hi Steve: I( had a similar problem when I had our SWB. I had switched to a silicone fluid when I rebuilt the MC & calipers and found that it caused the seal (single cylinder) to swell slightly and the piston could not move back and open the port to the reservoir. I had a friend carefully machine abo...

Re: Is this heater control valve original?

It looks like mine on #2693. No bracket, just floats between hoses.
