Re: Mechanical Fuel Pump Repair Questions

i think i used a rebuild kit from "Then and Now automotive", for Fispa 150 - same pump as flaminia, etc, but the check valves were definitely different than what was in there. for what its worth, I attached rebuild instructions from the old Ferrari of Atlanta. LASTLY, Tom I am assuming the...

Re: Mechanical Fuel Pump Repair Questions

Tom, Dyke, John and menlodon, I suspect you are all correct- I always felt my old checkvalves, and the diaphragm were OK and saved them. In fact nothing seemed that bad with the old pump except a slight gasket leak and the fact it didnt work, but the lever was a bit sloppy because the pin was a bit ...

Re: Mechanical Fuel Pump Repair Questions

Tom- definitely fuel starvation--- i can't get the pump to deliver enough fuel to keep the glass bowl filled. can actually watch the fuel disappear from bowl as you rev the engine. ( supply<demand) I R&R the pump so many times i got sick of it and kept the electric. Maybe Ill try again and if no...

Re: Mechanical Fuel Pump Repair Questions

John, 2mm sounds about right... but I dont have it apart right now. why not hook up a fuel pressure gauge and see whats being delivered to your regulator from the pump.... that way you can objectively measure any changes you make? wont you decrease the pumping volume if you add paper gaskets and thi...

Re: Mechanical Fuel Pump Repair Questions

using calipers and some math, I played around with the geometry before I started shaving the spacer. So as to avoid making it too thin and damaging the pump. I actually shot video and turned engine over as I measured the in and out movement of the push rod. and then looked at pump lever to flange di...

positive report on Gtclassiche.com

All, recently dealt with GTclassiche.com. a division of AFRA, in Italy , purchasing several parts form my 330. They also deal with lambo, maserati, detomaso, and have a decent website for ordering. While communication and processing is done in the classic italian manner, it was done. and it was done...

Re: 330GT Master cylinder repair Rear seal

Follow up to my posts on the rear seal of my MC leaking. I sourced rebuild kits from 3 vendors ( because i destroyed 2 seals along the way). GT parts, Rutlands and finally Karps--- they all sell the same kit essentially, and while the 3 piston seals (7/8") are fine, the rear seal ( PN#7 in diag...

Booster Vacuum Check Valve with Service port

As part of my Brake Master cylinder rebuild, and Booster, decided to find a suitable new vacuum port. Most are one port, ours had a service port. see attached. The exact part (but painted black) with a service port, and new gasket is about 11$. If yours was like my original, its brittle, and it had ...

330GT brake fluid reservoir loss - Master Rebuild

UPDATE: 1) got the 3 seals from T rutlands- fit great. pieces after cleaning look great. 2) Tom reminded me to make sure the Banjo bolt for rear brakes (labelled A) fits into the slot in the rear piston (labelled B)-- YOU MUST ALIGN the rear cylinder with slot pointing up as you assemble the pieces ...

Re: 330GT brake fluid reservoir loss

Guys, whats the correct finish for the Master cylinder ( for my late 330 GT SII, CAD plated booster)-- On Kerry's site there are examples of black painted and unfinished appearing ones.. Now that I have everything cleaned up, I might as well do it correctly. Same for the bracket holding the reservoi...

Re: 330GT brake fluid reservoir loss

sunday night.. steelers on TV... my team, but couldn't resist : removed it. you can see gunk all over that flange where it should be dry. i think this seal is probably just plain worn out. cleaning everything and need to source some seals. barrel looks fine. managed to lose the snap ring when it fle...

Re: SOLVED -330GT brake fluid reservoir loss

Tom and Steve, Y'all a bunch of smart people. pulled the vacuum port from the booster, and ran a red cloth strip down.. came up soaked. inserted my suction tool and brought up a "reservoir" of brake fluid out of the booster. Many thanks--- time to pull the MC and rebuild I guess!' michael ...

Re: 330GT brake fluid reservoir loss

so is it a seal at the rear of the Master that could be bad?
not sure I have ever seen a rebuild kit --- do I just take it apart and find seals that fit?
