Re: 330 door mirrors

Here are a non matching pair mirrors that came with our Series 1 GTE and the pinch type that I am currently using and very happy with. BTW I've noticed that some cars have mirrors mounted on the door and some on the fender. Ours were mounted on the door allowing access to the back side nuts. Sorry f...

Re: 330 door mirrors

I have 2 period mirrors in a box somewhere. Not matching but each slightly different.Willing to dig them out and take a pic. If the new buyer of my mid series 1 GTE doesn’t want you can have one. Campbell

Exactly. Available in round or rectangular. I put the other on my MG T type.

Re: 330 door mirrors

I too did not want to drill into the door or fender. I found a source in the UK that makes a period chrome round mirror that clips into the vent window of my GTE. You can remove it easily with no blemishes if you like.

Re: 250 engine dipstick question

Thanks for this! BTW I'm told by an old school mechanic up here that there should be a thin felt pad under the metal tab needed to fill in the 3mm gap.

Re: 250 engine dipstick question

Tom would you mind measuring from the bottom of your dipstick to the underside of the tab? If you have a GTE in the shop - assume the 330 America would be different?
Thanks

250 engine dipstick question

Evening all, I was just checking my oil level and noticed that the dipstick black metal tab does not touch the raised hole on the sump. It sits up with a gap of about 3 or 4 mm. Is this correct? Should it be touching? Could oil be coming out if it's not flush - or does the dipstick prevent this insi...

Cinturato tire pressure?

I have just mounted 5 new Pirelli Cinturato 185x15 now available from Longstone Tres in GB. I plan on going with the factory front 28lb and rear 33lb. Has anybody put some good miles yet on these newly released tires to confirm best pressure?

Re: Rear Bumper 250GT

John
I would use painters tape on the paintwork even if I had a helper. Don't forget to also check the overlapping sections for flashings of chrome or sharp edges that could scratch your bumpers. Good luck. C

Re: Tell me about the old days!

I recall even by 1980 not many owners working on their cars. In FCA Northeast Region Bob Zambelli and Frank Grimaldi come to mind as the exception. While rebuilding our 250 around this time (on our billiard table) I remember once my dad sending me to the kitchen to check the wrinkle finish on the ne...

2831 update and next project

Now that the rebuilt and dynoed engine is back in, it won't be long before the hood leaves the basement and heads out to the garage. Today, it's been joined by the hood from my MG Supercharged Hillclimb Special. It's 70+ year old crank is getting replaced by a new steel billet one - plus some other ...

Re: GTEs - How many had power windows?

They work pretty well. Really nice being able to open the passenger side with the control just next to your left hand on the door. How many owners in the Registry have stated this option? I heard only about 10 cars.
