Re: tyres
It should be noted that I checked in with my Pirelli rep (in Canada) on these tires and while they may be being made BY Pirelli, they are not available FROM Pirelli. According to him, these tires are being made exclusively for Longstone Tires in the UK who apparently have gone so far as to secure th...

Re: rear fuel filter 250 GTE
Hey Martin, Yes it is indeed a Fispa cartridge as I still have the original one out of my 250 ... the one that had NEVER been changed! It's equivalent is a Fram C4518 or a UFI 26-617-00 ... both of which come with new springs as part of the cartridge that keeps them seated in the proper position in ...

Ed,
Did you try Newco? I know he’s had them in the past as I’ve got them from him myself previously.

Re: GTE Headliners
Interesting. Well if this wasn't a factory headliner, it may have been done by Jacques Swaters of Garage Francorchamps upon it's initial sale to Mr. Mattan prior to him picking up the car on April 6th of 1961. 2457 left the factory as 'Blue Sera' (#MM16439) with a Tan (Naturale Connoly #3218) interi...

Tom,
The headliner is pure black with any 'tint' of color in the photo itself having beeng due to the LED trouble light that I had used to illuminate the area when I took the photo.

Re: GTE Headliners
Here is 2457's (early Series-I car) and upon it's removal from the car as we were disassembling the car for restoration, I can guarantee it has never been touched and if it had, there was absolutely no evidence of it. It appeared to be 100% factory.

Re: PH 2815 Oil Filters, good deed for the day
Thank you very kindly Mr. Ridgely! I just purchased the same 'lifetime supply' quantity of filters for Ethan and I on 2457 and was quite astounded to find that not only did they have plenty of PH2815's, but also a full inventory of the PB50's from the same warehouse closeout (which are selling for $...

Re: GTC Shocks
Good Morning Ed, It looks like Timo is indeed correct as I was able to finally get in touch with Mason, my old contact, at Koni this morning and they have indeed decided to outsource their custom 'vintage' shock rebuilds to Performance Shock in California. Mason gave me Thomas Haugg's direct line at...

Re: GTC Shocks
Koni definitely still does factory rebuilds on their shocks and the gentleman you need to speak with at Koni is Mason (ext 324) at 859-586-4100. I just got my 250 GTE shocks done early this spring in a 6 week turnaround, but this lead time grows in the late spring to early summer. The quote was $140...
