1933 Alfa Romeo Monza

While at the Lime Rock Park Historic Festival I once again came across a 1933 Alfa Romeo Monza driven by Peter Greenfield. It is an amazing car that I just can't got out of my mind! In particular, the SF shields are the original hand painted shields! (According to the guy who we helped push the car ...

Closer Inspection of the Brake Equalizer

I vote to turn a new one. Plain old steel should be fine as long as you change the fluid, right? You can use stainless if you take pity on the next guy who might not!

Progress on Brakes

Tom,
What does the inside of the equalizer look like? I'm having a hard time picturing that device in the photo doing anything helpful other than maybe having a piston between the 2 outputs to seal one off in the event of a severe leak.
Thanks,
Neil

Re: Brakes! We don't need no stinkin brakes

Tim,
Just something to think about, it may not be the fluid. I had a 70s Corvette that did the same thing at altitude with regular brake fluid. I never did find out why. Eventually sold the car.

I've never had to do this, however I think I've seen ads in Hemmings for steering wheel restorations. Hope that helps.

Batteries

My 328 and jet ski both came with Die Hards when I bought them and they seem to be able to sit all winter without a problem. This winter I have a maintainer on all of them and that seems to...

I have not, but Don Kline participated in the Texas 1000 and had a great time. Don wrote about it in Autoweek. I also talked to Don and he really did enjoy it, it was well run.
