There's a port with an adaptor for the oil line on the left(7/12) side of the block just under the distributor drive. It should be pretty obvious. If you're not running the original style oil line than you can run a mechanical oil gauge off the port there to get the reading,

Re: Dirty cars
More interestingly in regards to the California and it"s sister Maserati that was also in the "preservation" Class at Pebble is the fact that they come from France. Last time I checked it is illegal to bring soil of any kind from another state let alone another country into the state of California, ...

That makes two of us Marc
In all seriousness though, expect some fun updates next week and rest assured 4247 will be in Monterey next month

Re: radiator recore recommendation needed
Down here in Southern California most of use Santa Monica radiator, they do a great job and have a straight fin core very similar to the original. Nothing is exact unless you build the core from scratch and have access to the original metric sized tubing etc. The modern equivalent works better/more ...

Re: Question about the 365 in the blog...
John, The large round thing with the hoses on it is the thermal fast idle cam, it has a soring inside that is heated by enigne oil running. When the engine is cold the wheel holds the throttle shaft at a fast idle until the engine warms up. They used these on several US model cars from the late 60's...

Re: 250 GTE Tire recommendations
My .02¢ and opinions XWX tires are expensive and better for show cars post 67', I dont really care for them- as stated in the thread the batches can very and "new" tires can be 2+ years old. Blocklys are great, look correct and perform good although I've only used them on 50's cars The Pirelli Centu...

Re: Cam Cover Nuts
One other thing to note is that the the original "accorn" nuts are yellow nylocks just like some of the other hardware on the cars. The replacements I have seen do not have the nylock and tend to loosen up over time. As much as these cars like to leak the nylock on the nut helps prevent a little of ...

Mark's 365
Tom your post reminded me of what a great journey it was with Mark's car and I wanted to share a couple more pictures from the DC Nationals in 2006 when I first a "corvette guy" who had just bought his first Ferrari. So many good years and memories from a single car purchase, I will miss the car but...

Re: Thank you, Tom
will do John, this was only the second year for the rally but it was a great success. Very reasonable cost which included breakfast, lunch, tickets to Laguna Seca and special private parking inside the track near the Michilin Bridge. Mostly modern cars but I had the Miura and there was a MB Gullwing...

Re: Thank you, Tom
Yes Tom, great job on the party and keeping that venue the last few years. I brought a very different group with me this year and not only did they feel welcomed but they all enjoyed meeting the T-Yang crowd. I actually had a better time at the Thursday night Yang/Quail party than I did at the offic...

Re: Rusty GTE
Couldn't agree more, haven't found a vintage Italian car I can't fit in and drive yet so I guess the diet is working just fine. As for the shirts, seeing as I made them and one of my good friends did the logo years ago as a tongue-in-cheek version of the Scuderia Ferrari shield. Letters actually say...

Re: 330 GTC Campagnolo wheel paint
Timo, actually we can still buy Laquer in California just not as easily as other states and this site has all the old paints, paint codes etc. I wouldn't necessarily use them for color matching a car but for wheel paint certainly. http://www.tcpglobal.com/restorationshop/ And Ed for the Chromadoras ...
