The bladder on my "pump" failed years ago.
Does anyone know of an accurate replacement. It is an early style pump with just a rubber baldder.
I had replaced it with an incorrect FIAT pump.

Re: 250 water pump
I just did the water pump seal on my 250. I worked in the chemical industry and worked with several US seal manufacturers. They agreed on one thing - never lubricate a shaft seal face. I gave up on Ferrari type seals a long time ago and have sucessfully used John Crane seals and modified the pump to...

Re: rebuilding ignition switch
Michael, Thanks. Mine has only one thickness. But that is a start. The fact that all power (other than start) was disonnected when in the start was pushed took me a while to find. The engine would start only when the start was released and the engine was still turning. A big problem was flooding. On...

Re: rebuilding ignition switch
I had the same start problem and came up with the same solution. However I had an additional problem. The middle (feed) finger would move away from its contact when pushing the start button, making it extermely difficult to start the engine. Reshaping the finger fixed that. I feel the finger has los...

Re: Brake bleeding sequence & tricks 250 Gte
I have had trouble with DOT 5 causing swelling with my GTE. Check with the supplier of your parts. The one I used (second time around) said DOT-5 would not work.
I used a pressure bleeder on the reservoir - worked perfectly

Re: Is this heater control valve original?
Here is a photo of the heater control valve on my GTE #2853.
David Wheeler commented that he had not seen one mounted like this before. It was like that when I got the car in 1971. Who knows what happened before that.
(Did ths photo attach?)

Re: Tell me about the old days!
Good old days? In my case, my Ferrari adventures started in 1971. I wanted to buy a 240Z because my old ’59 Ford had given up the ghost, but no Z’s were available because of a dock strike. I needed a car. A friend (?) suggested that since I am Italian, why don’t I buy an old Ferrari. He knew of a 19...

Re: GTS Judging details
What is right?
Has anyone ever seen 2 GTE's that were exactly alike? I think it all depended on how "Mario and Luigi" felt on a particular day.

My GTE is like yours. According to the manual, you fill it to 1cm below the fill hole

Re: Replace/Fix GTE Fan Clutch
It looks like you have all the parts - they just need a good cleaning. I dont think the cracks mean anything since it looks solid otherwise.
Since the magnet works, that is the most important thing. Also the contact ring must be in good condition

Re: Replace/Fix GTE Fan Clutch
I have some photos of the rebuild of the fan clutch on my GTE 2853. It was OK electrically, but I replaced the bearings.

Re: Keys for Locks
My '62 250 GTE is original. It has just 2 keys.
One for the ignition. The door, glove box and trunk are all the same. Only one door has a lock - drivers side.

On my original GTE 2853, there is plastic over the carpet next to the accelerator pedal and around the firewall area.
