Thanks for the pic. We already made one. I'll post a pic one of these days of it. Tom, don't worry we are very aware of the need to support the front of the motor. We have been doing so and will continue to do so. But overall, things are going really well, I think. We have her stripped down all the ...

I might note that the engine has no seal front or rear on the crank. Cool design, the front whatever oil comes from the crank bearing falls right into the pan, at the rear is a large diameter slinger which throws the excess oil back into the crankcase.

Very clever.

Yesterday, by the way, I was wishing for a motor stand like Tom's. I had to remove the block from the stand to remove the crank because of the interference between the block and the flywheel, which dictatedt the removal of the fw in order to remove the crank. Today I cleaned the block of the thick g...

YOu guys don't know how easy you have it. I love the look of the tall 16" tires on my pf but the choice of tires is abominable!

I have cross ply avons on it now but am wishing for the opportunity to go to a modern constrcution steel belt radial.

I got the crank out today. The rear main was in bad shape. The crank is nearly as heavy as the bare block. I could carry either but both were heavy. The block was heavier but not by all that much. My daughter is home now. I need to try to get her to help me get the camera to down load. Tom Walgamuth

Thanks for the heads up, Rudy. I will discuss it with my machinist. Since we are not putting in new pistons it may not be necessary.

I don't want to do it over for sure!

Today I went and got a 5/8" impact socket, short, and selected a straight shafted 3/8" extension. I took it over to Homer's shop and found that the socket absolutely scoffed at a hack saw. Homer set up his bridgeport mill and milled away all except four lugs on the socket, then drilled out the squar...

Your car has threaded plugs?

If so you need to install zerks. The zerks need to match your grease gun.

The nipples on my F are larger diameter than a standard grease gun nipple. I matters not to me since I have my original grease gun.

I discovered today that one of the pamphlets I got from the PO of my car is by Jim Riff. I just ordered something that he did a couple of days ago, so I hope its not the same thing! In it he recommends a kit for installing ford valve seals offered by Bill Harrah's Ferrari dealership in Reno. Does an...

The original Ferrari fittings I believe are larger than a standard us fitting. Your car may have been retrofitted with standard us fittings.

I have been searching the web for some wood handled screwdrivers. I found some german and swedish examples that are close to the right size. Anybody have some suggestions here? After them I am only short the combination flexible barrell tool. I am not convinced that they actually came in the pf tool...
