Sourcing question: black ribbed water hose
Hi fellow enthusiasts, My engine had a black ribbed hose with inner diameter 20mm at the water system - please see pictures attached. I searched for long now but could only find a ribbed black hose without webbing enforcement and with other diameter at Newco —> no solution. https://www.newcoproducts...

Re: 2 control levers for 3 air flaps - GTE mystery question
Hi Andrew, thank you for sharing this information. I do have the same control units in the passenger compartment: the two pull cables for the large air ducts on both sides and the two turn controls under the dashboard to control the chromed air inlets in the dashboard. This additional flap would sto...

Re: Sealing of air duct hoses
Hi Andrew, I remember the breathtaking smell from the engine too and so I also seal all hoses that protrude the firewall. We tried to do so as unobtrusive as possible and as I want to drive the car this little deviation from originality is more than acceptable. Thank you for sharing the information ...

Re: Chromed escutcheons for the bumpers
Hello Andrew,
I am happy to hear that the escutcheons work well for you. mine are already chromed and look exactly the same as the originals. Merry Christmas and thank you for the positive feedback.
Best regards,
Martin

Re: 2 control levers for 3 air flaps - GTE mystery question
This topic is still a mystery. We are assembling the GTE now and have the same open issue - the car misses one control lever to direct the central air flow. All other flaps do have control units, however, there is none for this flap. There must be others with the same situation - what is your opinio...

Can anyone help me with this please: I am restoring the Bendix brake booster of my 250 GTE and need information about the finish of the drum - is this white Cadmium plated?

Re: Door straps
I think I can answer this question now. After some research I am pretty sure that these door straps have been nitrated to harden the surface. This would explain the dark grey, close to black appearance in those areas where the metal didn’t rub. Maybe this information might be useful for some other r...

Sealing of air duct hoses
Hi, Does anybody know how the factory sealed the air duct hoses sticking through the fire wall in a 250 GTE? I couldn’t find any traces of a kind of seal, neither rubber nor any kind of a liquid sealing compound. It’s hard to believe that the air duct hoses were left without any seal as this would l...

Door straps
I am working on the door straps. The genuine design isn’t really made good. This is one of the few parts that I will replace by a better solution as it is out of sight and needs good functionality. The back plate presses on a little rubber and we made a little cage that holds the rubber in shape and...

2 control levers for 3 air flaps - GTE mystery question
Hi, my GTE has 5 air flaps in total. Two of these with the smaller diameter are sitting right in the dash and are controlled by a turn-knob under the dash - all good with that. The other 3 with the larger diameter are for the (!) air flow in the foot area left (sitting on the firewall in the engine ...

Re: Gasoline and fuel filter housings 2 questions
Hello Steve, I made the same experience with the Kilimandjaro Fuel Filter decal. The reason why it doesn´t work with water is that it is a self adhesive sticker that must be peeled of by hand from the paper - it is no water slide. But even then, it is poor quality. The fuel filter housing is not a s...
