I also think this discussion makes a good case for actually using your old Ferrari more often. Think about your every day car. The bores and bearings of that car do not suffer from drain back ... because that engine never sits still long enough. The problem with start up wear on most Ferraris is pr...

Trucks are WAY cooler than SUV's.

Congratulations Tom.

Congratulations Mom & Dad Yang. Welcome, Ms Yang - and pretty soon you're going to find out you've got a whole BUNCH of non-related uncles that are all car nuts. :D

Congrats, Dad! And Mom too, of course.

Get the proper ABC primer for when the little one arrives, Tom. One that teaches a kid the essentials, like the difference between a 13mm wrench and a 1/2" one. :D

Great story about the lift Kerry, and you have a wonderful site, btw. I enjoyed browsing through it.

But I must admit to wincing everytime I read about your travails with a particular suspension part .... it's actually called a 'Pitman arm', old son.

Congratulations old chap. Now that you've made an honest woman of the lady, you can start teaching her the essentials required to run your household; she should use her own chamois when washing your cars, your socks should be warmed in the microwave before she slips them on your feet, and she should...

Not one, but TWO goodlooking red cars. Can you get your intended to dye her hair red, as well?

That makes him one of the legends, then. I guess he would have known 'Feel Heel' as well? Francois would be one of the ideal chaps to bench-race with.

Don't overwork the old boy - there's a lot of history in that frame ..... :D

Luigi Chinetti NART racing team.

Tom,

The NART race team run by Luigi Chinetti was a very professional outfit, with a fine crew. The chief mechanic was a Mr Sicard - would this be the same Francois Sicard who helps you with your car?

Seatbelt anchors

Grief, but those bits are beautifully made .... especially considering Doran just had some bits of cardboard to work from! Makes me really, really wish they had a branch near Pretoria.
Look after that friend of yours, Tom - he's literally worth his weight in gold! ;)

Welding around fuel is ALWAYS a nervewracking experience. You probably know this tip, Tom, but I'll post it for the benefit of the folks that don't. I was doing last-minute tidying-up on a rally car just before a big international event when I spotted a serious fuel leak that had developed in the fu...

Lucas electrics

Witnessing your struggles with the electrics of your car brought an old gag to mind.

"Why do the English drink warm beer?

Because they have Lucas refrigerators ....."
