GS, if you strip back some of the insulation on the plug wires, is there a few strands of copper wire or is there, for lack of a better term, nylon rope coated with carbon? Typically, noise supression wire uses a glass cord strand coated with carbon. The carbon conducts electricity but at a hgher r...

Okay...So are these Packard 440 Wires that I currently have, solid core wires and can't be used?

And, does someone have a recommendation for a proper spiral or helically wound plug wire in 7mm?

As always, thanks in advance.

Plug Wires with MSD

I just received my second MSD box from Jegs and I now have instructions. I already installed a 6AL MSD box on the passenger side as I had that MSD box lying around from another project. After viewing the instructions, it states solid core spark plug wires CANNOT be used with MSD ignition. My car cur...

http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/cc262/gsjohnson/DadsPics012-2.jpg I decided to remake the splash panel on the passenger side. I first built a template and then used the pattern to cut out the sheet metal. The template also makes it easy to locate the holes correctly when drilling the sheet metal...

Re: Knock Off Nut Torque

Esp. w/ reference to Ricambi's new tool, I searched unsuccessfully for the correct knock off nut torque setting for our Series II s/n 8325. Does not mean that the info is not directly in front of me. Anyone know where to find the answer? I tried the 'search' function here and at Kerry's site. Thx, ...

I wish I could have been there. Wrong coast, I guess. And Tom, L.A. isn't such a bad city either. Good weather at least.

GS, I would use B6ES, not BP6ES. I have had issues with the clearances on the projected tips on BP6ES. Try that gap setting and see how it goes, should be ok. Thanks Rudy-
Would that be the BP6ES gapped at maybe .045?
The engine currently has Champion N4C spark plugs in it with the small threaded tips that match the Packard 400 plug wire ends.

That car is 25 minutes from me if anyone is interested.

There is also a 330 GT 2+2 Interim basket case on ebay right now as well...S/N 7091. Not my idea of a desirable color combo though. IMO a high buy it now price of 64K.

I just went down to my local Napa store this afternoon. They didn't have them in stock, but stated they could have them in by morning. I prepaid them at $8 each. That's probably the best F-car deal I will ever find.
