Re: Restoring 330 Rear Numberplate Lights

Darren, is there a similar cleaning product in the US like “Wonder Wheels”? Or can this be purchased in the US? Looks like a nice solvent for these old delicate parts. Any one have a source?

Re: Restoring 330GT 2+2 Door Handles

Darren, guided by your last text, we made the paddle starting with a steel bracket from a sliding door track that had two bent up ends. Drilled the holes for the rod and cut out the slot. All worked just fine. Just a note of thanks for your initial idea that these were easy to make, and they were. Y...

Re: Valve Cover Removal

Tom, the 4 cam covers do not stick in place as bad as the singles, just a tap from a rubber mallet will do. No knives needed. Jim

Re: Valve Cover Removal

Tom, haven't chimed in for awhile, but I hate to use any chisels near any soft alloy parts, especially the cam covers. I made a tool that I use often on these engines, and it works well and NO damage. Purchased a cheap dent puller from Autozone, ground the head down on an M8X1,25 bolt. Drilled the p...

The smaller braid goes to a cam cover nut not the header.

Re: Lining up inlet manifolds to ports

As for head gaskets, the GT Car Parts head gaskets I have used do not require re-torquing. They seem to be made with modern materials and have seals around the studs and holes. As a routine I have re-checked the torque and it has worked on 250s.

Emergency PW window crank applications

The emergency power window crank used on 330GT2+2, SII; is this applicable to others like: Dino, Daytona 275, etc? This is the one with the gear on the end.

Re: Maintenance

Dyke, who supplies the American swivel tip adjusters, and do you have to use the needle bearings in the rockers for clearance?

Re: Maintenance

Has anyone used the "elephant foot" adjuster screws to obtain correct valve lash when the valve ends are dippled? I think these are sourced from the motorcycle industry.

Re: Castle Nuts

Kare, to support your input on hand torque, a Ferrari factory story was relayed to me by Pete Coltron. Back in the 50's a well know midwest Ferrari collector was touring the engine assembly area and noted the assembler was torquing the bolts with a simple wrench. He commented to the forman that this...
