Re: 512BB Fan Motor

I have not pulled the fan motor yet. I had one of these a part a couple of years ago and sent it out to be rebuilt. You have to remove the front clip to get at the fan - not that bad in a Boxer though. It may be the that the brushes have disintegrated as well. All the motors are a little different. ...

512BB Fan Motor

One of the fan motors on my 512BB is making a horrible noise. I suspect its the bearing. I called around to a couple of local shops and have not had any luck getting someone to rebuild it; says the bearing are imposible to fine. Does anyone know a source to rebuild these. Would like to stay with the...

Re: Daytona Shock Removal and Rebuild

Timo,

Look at the top pic of the RR. I believe it is not right.

It should be like the 3rd pic which is of the LR.

Right?

Re: Daytona Shock Removal and Rebuild

Resurrecting this thread as I am just noticing something. I had my Daytona shocks rebuilt using new rubber spring stops over a year ago by True Choice in Ohio. And I installed them at that time. My Daytona has developed a "creek" coming from the right rear. I have traced it to the point wh...

Re: GTC oil hose

Make sure the orientation of the fittings on the end are the same when you replace the hose. Hard to man handle that one.

Re: DINO Ignition Issue

I would also check the Ohms on the plug wires. I had a similar situation on a carbed Boxer recently and it was the 20+ year old wires

Re: DINO Ignition Issue

Michael, If I remember correctly, there is a section in the operating manula that shows how to bypass the Dinoplex in the trunk. You move around a couple of wires. It is very simple to do. I did it on my coupe when I owned it. If it runs its probably your Dinoplex. But as I remember these things the...

Re: Bleeding the brakes on a Daytona

Done it in a similar manner many times. Don't know whats' up except maybe one of the unions that direct brake fluid to the rear may have gotten clogged - but looks like both sides would have to be clogged to get nothing out of either. Someone smarter than me will have to help.

Good Luck,

Re: Stuck Boxer Clutch

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think what I am going to do is cut a 2x4 to hold the clutch in, put the rear tires in the air on jack stands, star the car in first gear, get it warmed up then see if between the combination of break and throttle I can break it free. If that does not do it then put ...

Re: Stuck Boxer Clutch

Thanks guys, Yes it bumps forward when I have it in second with clutch engauged. I can start it in neutral; just will not go into gear as Dyke said when running and clutch engauged. Had not thought to try to start in first on the street but sounds like next step. will get it warmed up and give it a ...
